Team Titleist is on the grounds of Muirfield and ready to provide inside the ropes coverage of the The Open Championship.

The sun is out and the wind is up as the participants prepare for the year's third major. Titleist Brand Ambassadors and golf ball loyalists alike have been visiting our European Tour Support Van (which is parked right behind the practice range) securing their golf balls, tweaking their equipment and trying on outerwear in case the weather turns for the worse at some point this week.

Among the first to stop by this week was Titleist Brand Ambassador Graham DeLaet. This will mark DeLaet's first appearance at the Open Championship, but not the first time he has played Muirfield. He shared with Team Titleist that he stuck around after playing the Dunhill Links last year and enjoyed a memorable  father-son golf trip that included Muirfield on the itinerary. DeLaet loves the links style layout and after knocking on the door several times this year, hopes to make this his first victory since joining the PGA Tour.

Another early visitor included reigning Masters Champion and Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott as he popped in for a quick visit with the Titleist Leadership Team. Adam also spent some time signing Masters memorabilia before heading out to the practice facility to work on his game.

Check out the slideshow above for a quick tour of Day 1 and we'll check back in tomorrow with more updates from Muirfield.

The 2013 Ontario Men's Amateur got underway earlier this week at the beautiful, OslerBrook Golf Club in Collingwood, Ontario.

Once again, many of the best players in the game chose Titleist from tee-to-green.  Titleist is the #1 choice in every major equipment category at the event with 92% trusting the Titleist golf ball.

The top five finishers at The Greenbrier Classic, including winner and Pro V1x loyalist Jonas Blixt, all relied on a Titleist golf ball for their success at The Old White TPC.

And with 156 players competing for the prestigious Springhouse trophy and Greenbrier green jacket, 107 players trusted a Titleist golf ball, nearly 6 times the nearest competitor with 18.

With two more wins, Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf ball loyalists have now won 77 tournaments on the worldwide professional tours in 2013, nearly three times the nearest competitor with 28 and more than all other competitors combined.

PGA TOUR: Jonas Blixt began Sunday 10-under par, four shots back. After posting a 2-under par 33 on the opening nine holes Sunday, Blixt still sat two shots off the lead. Blixt was persistent as the sun began to set, and played the final five holes 1-under par to cap off his come-from-behind victory.

''This is what I play for,'' Blixt said in an interview. ''I play to win. It just confirms that if you do the right things, that you work hard, dreams can come true.''

Filling out the all-Titleist top five, tied for second two shots behind Blixt, were Brand Ambassadors Matt Jones (Pro V1x) and Jimmy Walker (Pro V1), and Pro V1x loyalists Johnson Wagner and Steven Bowditch.

With his second career PGA TOUR win, Blixt earns an invitation to the 2014 Masters.

With a T-2 and his current FedExCup point ranking, Walker, who was playing prototype irons Titleist MB irons and a new Scotty Cameron Futura X putter for the first time this week, also earns an invite to Muirfield in less than two weeks.

“Yeah, that's great,” he said after the round. “I've never played the British. I hear Muirfield is pretty awesome, so I'm excited. I'll get ready.”

Pro V1x loyalist Wil Collins shot a final round 6-under par 66 to capture the Dakota Dunes Open, his first PGA TOUR Canada victory. Collins, playing among the field of 156, headlined a group of 100 players who relied on a Titleist golf ball in pursuit of the victory.

Think a Hole-in-One is pure luck?  How about SIX of them?

Team Titleist Member, Colin, from British Columbia celebrated his SIXTH hole-in-one earlier this week...all 6 while playing a Titleist golf ball.  He accomplished this feat during his 60th round of 2013 at Richmond Country Club in Richmond, BC while playing a match.

The Shot:
Distance: 161 Yards
Club: 7 Iron 710 CB

What's in the bag:
Ball: Pro V1x
Driver: 910D3 9.5 with Graphite Design Tour AD YSQ - 65 Stiff
Fairway/Hybrid: 910F 13.5 / 910H / 585H 19 / 5855H 21
Irons: 5-7 710CB / 8-PW 710 MB
Wedges: Vokey 200 Series (Custom Shop) 52.08 / SM4 Oil Can 58.09
Putter: Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 33.75"

"Upon impact it truly was one of THOSE shots that is so pure you instantly know you have hit it on line.  The ball flight was nearly dead straight with about a 1 yard draw and landed about 8' in front of the hole.  It was looking so good....It took one bounce, checked and then at perfect speed very gently rolled directly in the center of the cup.  We approached the green and all four of us were very confident that indeed it did go in as my ball was no where to be found, I strolled up to the pin and saw my Pro V1x #2 resting in the bottom of the cup.  I proceeded to give a nice respectable Woooooooooooo and fist pump in celebration and asked my partner to take a couple pics.

All my hole in ones have been very special to me.  My first one was special as it was the first. It is very hard to say which has been the best as each one is so very special in their own way.  While I now have 6 they do not come around very often and I will never get tired of that feeling of picking the ball out of the hole and writing down that 1 on the scorecard.

I have been playing Titleist golf balls since I started playing the game back in 1993.  From Tour Balata's, Pro Trajectory 90's, Professionals, Tour Prestige and now over a decade of Pro V1's.  I play the Pro V1x because I find it to be the perfect combination of distance off the tee, control with my irons and the all around performance from 100 yards and in.  You will never find another brand of golf ball in my bag for the rest of my life.

Thank you Team Titleist!"

Thank YOU Colin, for trusting Titleist from Tee to Green and for SIX Hole in Ones!!!

Your Friends at Team Titleist Canada

Everyone here in Team Titleist can relate to the following scenario:

You stripe a drive down the middle of the fairway, and you're feeling great. Arriving at your ball, you see you're inside the 150-marker and looking to make birdie.

But, the yardage is between clubs. Do you baby a 9-iron, punch your pitching wedge or flush a gap wedge?

In the following video, Titleist Brand Ambassador Martin Flores shares his on-course strategy for controlling the distance of his Pro V1x golf ball with his Vokey wedges. Martin uses the guidelines of an "armpit to armpit swing" or a "shoulder to shoulder swing" to cue his swing to hit the ball either 130 or 120 yards, respectively.

What method do you like to use to control distance to stick your Titleist golf ball close? Is it swing length, speed of your swing, shoulder turn, wrist hinge, or something else?
