There can be little doubt that the European Tour is very much a hot-bed of golfing talent at the moment with a plethora of young, up-and-coming talent currently plying their trade on the Tour. Titleist is fortunate enough to call a number of these players 'Ambassadors' with names such as Rory McIlroy, Seung Yul Noh, Tano Goya, George Coetzee and Pablo Larrazabal all placing their trust in the Titleist script. However, one such name that regular followers will also have noticed in recent weeks is that of 26-year old Swedish Titleist Ambassador Oscar Floren.Oscar takes to the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country club in Malaysia this week for just the eighth event of his European Tour Rookie season and does so off the back of two fifth place finishes in his last three starts. Oscar is certainly high on confidence following strong performances at the Sicilian Open and at the Trophee Hassan II which have elevated him to 48th position in the current Race to Dubai rankings. Given his strong start to the season we thought this was an opportune moment to tell our Blog readers a little bit more about Oscar Floren.

Oscar turned pro back in 2007 with a handicap of plus three having enjoyed a successful amateur career. Notable amateur achievements included three individual titles during his time at Texas Tech University in the United States and representing his native Sweden at the Eisenhower Trophy, the World Team Amateur Championship. After completing his first full season on the Challenge Tour in 2009, Oscar made his major breakthrough in 2010 by winning the SWALEC Wales Challenge on route to securing his European Tour card courtesy of a sixth place finish on the 2010 Challenge Tour rankings.Oscar's major strength is perhaps that he has no real weaknesses, something that is made apparent with a glance at the European Tour's Genworth Financial Statistics. Whilst Oscar is by no means top of the tree in any one category, his overall statistics demonstrate that his game is solid from tee-to-green and this has ultimately led to strong early season play and a stroke average of 70.75 which ranks 46th on the European Tour. We're looking forward to watching Oscar in action over the coming months and wish him every success as he looks to continue his strong early season form and retain his European Tour card for 2012. Oscar relies on a variety of Titleist equipment including the Pro V1x golf ball and an ultra-cool Scotty Cameron Tour Black Fastback which is featured in the slideshow.
As the European Tour assembled in Malaysia for this year's Maybank Malaysian Open, Titleist took time out during the practice days to talk to a number of our staffers about playing in Asia.
