Since its introduction in 2000, the Pro V1 golf ball franchise has been the golf ball of choice for more than 1,900 champions worldwide.

Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls continue to collect victories around the world, as the champion of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic earned his second European Tour title, propelled by a switch to the new 2013 Pro V1x earlier in the week. And on the PGA Tour, seven of the top 10 finishers at the Waste Management Phoenix Open relied on Titleist golf balls for their success, including Titleist Brand Ambassador Scott Piercy who fired a final round best 10-under 61 to move into solo third place.

Let’s get to the Team Titleist weekend wrap-up…

EUROPEAN TOUR: 2013 OMEGA DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC

Winner: Titleist Pro V1x golf ball loyalist

The victory was the fourth consecutive for players trusting Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls on the 2013 European Tour, but the first for the winner since capturing the Dunhill Links Championships in October 2004.  He joins Chris Wood (Qatar Masters), Jamie Donaldson (Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship) and Louis Oosthuizen (Volvo Golf Champions) in Titleist’s 2013 European Tour Winners’ Circle.

Titleist was the overwhelming top choice in golf balls at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic with 82 players in the field of 132 relying upon a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than 4 times the nearest competitor with 19, and more than all competitors combined. A total of 39 players at the event relied upon the New 2013 Pro V1 or Pro V1x.

This week's stop is Dubai - as Titleist ambassador Romain Wattel plays a shot towards town!

This is the final leg of three of the European Tour's early season "Desert Swing" - and here's hoping that it's a hat-trick of wins for Titleist golf ball players after Pro V1 loyalist Jamie Donaldson and Pro V1x loyalist Chris Wood won in Abu Dhabi and Qatar respectively!

At 7,316 yards, and playing to a par of 72, the Emirates Golf Club is generally regarded as a tough, but fair, test. Deep rough and firm, fast greens will be the course's main defences.

This week saw continued seeding and testing of the 2013 Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls - and of the 82 (62% of the field) players putting their trust in a Titleist golf ball this week in Dubai, 39 have pegged up the new 2013 Pro V1 or Pro V1x.

And at the time of writing, 12 of the top 12 and ties are Titleist golf ball players.

Defending champion and Titleist ambassador Rafa Cabrera-Bello (at time of writing) is just five shots off the lead and will be looking forward to "moving day" tomorrow!
