The Titleist Tour Support Team have made our way to Aucuin-Westbecourt in France, about two and a half hours outside of Paris. We're here at AA Saint Omer Golf Club for the Najeti Hotels et Golfs Open. The event, co-sponsored by the European Tour and the European Challenge Tour, gives lesser-known players a wonderful opportunity to play a premiere tournament whilst the rest of the golf world turns its attention to the goings-on at this week's U.S. Open.
The week began with heavy winds that impacted first round play considerably. Pro V1 loyalist Tjaart Van der Walt was one of only five players to break par in the difficult conditions. Tjaart fired a four-under-par 67 to take the early lead. At the time of this writing, the South African had picked up right where he left off. Mid-way through the second round, he remains in the lead at 6-under, two shots clear of Titleist Brand Ambassadors Robert Dinwiddie and Daniel Brooks.
At this week's Najeti Hotels et Golfs Open, 122 players in the field of 156 are relying on a Titleist golf ball, more than 7 times the nearest competitor and more than all other competitors combined.
Cheers for now. The TTSV is off to Germany, for next week's BMW International Open.
