Should I wait?

  1. I want to have a full set fitting but wondered if there are any pro's out there who could answer a couple of questions? I have only played a couple of times a year for the last 20 years, but used to be a very good junior and have previously played off 3 (now in my late 30's). I have played abut 5 times this year and scores have ranged from level par to 18 over, clearly due to many years lack of practice but a bit of muscle memory hiding somewhere! I now want to take the game up seriously again, but wondered if I should spend a few months practicing and feeling more comfortable before a fitting? Basically, will I be offered different clubs if I turn up with my level par game or my 18 over game or will everything still be the same because whether I happen to lift up or lay the club off that day, my height and swing speed etc will probably be the same and should produce the same club results? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance Stephen

    Hi Stephen

Personally i would wait until you are happy with your game, as the fitting is done on the day, so if you turn up with your good game the results could very easily be different if you turned up with your 18 handicap game.

There must be a difference in your technique to produce such a big gap between good and bad, so for a matter of a few weeks why take the chance.
