I am looking to invest in a new set of clubs, full revamp of the bag needed to kick-start my aim of dropping the handicap this season.

However with so much choice and different testing systems, can anyone recommend a good venue for custom fitting in Scotland? (Ideally Glasgow area)

The new Titleist MB and CB range look great but being 6'4" I want to make sure my fitting is done correctly and I get the best clubs for my game. Also I think an outdoor fitting would be better as you can see the ball flight, but can the simulators be just as good at an indoor fitting?

Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Ive been fitted at Kingsacre a few times, great experience and the fitters there are first class, they use trackman and you are hitting out onto a range which allows you to see the full ball flight. If I was you id get booked in there!! Stewart

    Hi David

As a first port of call i would get your local Titleist Approved Retailer to book you a fitting session at Kings Acre which is close to Edinburgh, if this isn't an option go onto the Titleist website, put your postcode into the retailer finder and select from the differing types of fitting centre.

I have now been fitted three times, once by a sure fit centre and twice at the National Fitting Centre,  the experience is well worth any travelling time you have to make.

The confidence that knowing the clubs are fitted personally to you, just gives you so much confidence on the golf course,

    Hi David M

I would recommend without any question go to Kings Acre Edinburgh. I know you said Glasgow area but the Titleist fitting centre combined with Graeme Noblett the master fitter are superb. His email info is Graeme_Noblett@acushnetgolf.com. You would still have to book through your club pro.

You would be making a mistake in not driving to Kings Acre.

    Kind Regards

    Hello from Perth, Australia.

I lived in Glasgow (Dumbarton) before heading down under!

I used to play miz and got fitted at the World of Golf at Clydebank(they were and are very good). I then decided to go to the AP2 and got fitted by Robert(The pro) at Douglas Park Golf Club at Hillfoot.

My final spec did not change from miz, but the order did- with miz i'm 3 degrees upright, 1 inch longer, 3 layers of tape and PX 6.5. Titleist are 1 degree upright and a quarter of an inch longer of the shelf so the order ended up being 2 degrees upright and .75 longer etc.....

I'm 6'6'' and my Spec has not changed for the last 15 years - I guess at 6'.4' you know your spec just need to double check that it has not changed and if there is a better shaft out there now.

    Cheers and good luck!

The best place to visit is the Titleist National Fitting Centre at Kings Acre Golf Club just outside Edinburgh.  I got fitted for a full set in 2011 - 910 driver, AP2 irons and Vokey wedges.  The knowledge of the fitter, information and feedback you get is second to none. The centre is in a bay onto a pretty good driving range, so you see full ball flight etc.

At 6'3 I thought I'd need an extra inch length and a couple of degrees upright, when I actually got 1 inch longer and 1 degree upright.

I'm actually going back later this month to get fitted for the new 915 driver.  Booked through my pro last time, but as he's moving on at the minute I booked through my local American Golf this time.  You won't regret it.

Hi David, Just stumbled over your question, go to Kings Acre on the outskirts of Edinburgh its a amazing facility and the Titleist staff are so on the ball. Regards, Gary Armstrong
