So I'm on the range and the Asst Pro comes up to say "Where did you learn the Stack & Tilt method?"  I looked at him like he had lobsters dripping from his nose and said "What are you referring to?  My swing?"  He said "Yes, you are doing the Stack & Tilt really well"

So I get home only to find Stack & Tilt all over YouTube and I think; that's a normal swing!  Far as I could tell it has been around since 2007 or so but I never heard of it...is it popular? Do most of you use this?   I always thought loading my left side was the way to hit with the hips in front...?

The DVDs were sold an infomercial on the Golf Channel for about a year about 2 years ago.  One of the pro's on tour used it and won one tournament and he was the key endorser.

(If I were right-handed..) The traditional method is to load on the right on the backswing (practice with a golf ball under your outside right foot) and shift weight onto your left leg prior to releasing your lag.  Stack and Tilt keeps the weight on the left leg.  Alas, all my attempts at the S&T end up in a reverse tilt and resulted in fat shots.

Really, it doesn't matter if you naturally have a stack and tilt style swing.  The only thing that matters is that you're hitting the ball solidly.  There's a lot of ways to swing.  None of them are right or wrong.  If it's working for you, I wouldn't worry too much about what people are calling it.

I taught myself the "Lunge and shank" swing over 10 years ago. It's all over YouTube and apparently very popular. :-)

John, first let me start by saying, yes I'm a Stack & Tilt disciple, there I amit it. It always cracks me up the way alot of people say, oh Stack & Tilt, not me, never like it's some kind of Voodoo thing. In fact one of the best swing guru's on PGA tour has been accused of ripping off the 6 basic Stack & Tilt principles, and using Quantum Physics to put his own twist on S&T's basic moves. All I know is for me it was a swing breakthrough. Also there are alot of Touring Pro's that have amitted to using 1or 2 of the S&T moves to help their swing. So thank you Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett, S&T swing developers.  So if you have a great swing that looks like S&T,if it's working, stick with it.

Aaron Baddely made it popular a few years ago when he was hot.  I agree with earlier posts and Palmer's  commercial on Golf Channel, "Swing your swing."  Look at JF this weekend, shot 59 and even shot link blinks when he is swinging because his swing looks so bad!!!  Ha.  I started getting more technical in my swing the last 5 years in an attempt for improvement and added about 5 strokes to my handicap.  From 8 to 13.  I used to be confident and just try to get the ball on the green and when I worried about how it looked when it flew to the green I became more inconsistent.  Ask TW how a pretty golf swing holds up under pressure when its not your natural swing.....  Enough said and again kudos to Palmer.......

Its not exactly a "normal" swing but if it works for you then use it the only problem is that it promotes a reverse pivot as a mistake.
