I second Ron's advice.

The biggest improvement I ever made in my game was seeking out a local PGA teaching professional. He watched me hit 1/2 a dozen balls and told me my clubs were too short and the shafts were too whippy. He made an appointment for me to see the club fitter over at Dana Rader golf school. The new clubs were so different I had to go back and take lessons to learn my golf swing all over again. It was worth it as my scores plummeted.

you might be hitting down on the ball the shaft needs to be weaker your loft needs to increase good luck

I was setting up a lesson with one of the best teachers in my area Tim Brown from Timberlane Golf Course in Gretna,La.and he's moving back to Philly so thats out untill I can find someone else thats good.

Lennie please take the advice to see a pro or take some lessons at Golftec... I played many years thinking I was a good golfer until I finally took lessons and 16 out of 24 swing positions where wrong...After 3 months of lessons and countless hours at range I found my game...The game of golf is enjoyable now and there's nothing like worrying about when is your next 18 instead of your swing...Get your swing consistent before the fitting ...I cancelled my fitting twice because my swing changed from lessons and practice....Good Luck

I have a few suggestions:

1) Go get fit for a driver by a professional. They will tell you if your driver is right for you. They will put you on a monitor and determine your stats. The shaft you are using in your drive may be totally wrong for you. They will also be able to tell you if your swing needs any refinement. Bottom line is that a pro will help you get better.

2) If you are "casting', make a concerted effort to take a shorter swing.

3) If you have difficulty controlling your driver and are not up for a lesson or visit to your pro, I would leave the driver in the trunk and tee off with a club that you are able to control. Yes, you may lose some distance, but will probably save some stokes by staying in play and eliminating the "crazy" shots.

I think my biggest problem is my path of desend with my driver I'm hitting down or cast or over the top and I can't seem to get out of that habit and I don't know I'm doing it I feel like I'm swing right but I get some crazy shots,no distance left to right ball flight,some time straight pulls.NEED HELP!!!!

I would try putting more weight on your back foot. 10.5 degrees is plenty of loft I would say. You could try placing the ball in the front of your stance so you can hit up on the ball increasing the height of your ball flight

What loft are you using, whats your ball position,how high do you tee it up,is your head behind the ball when you swing....These and many other causes will effect your AOA. You need to see a teacher or club pro to film your swing and adjust .

Eddie,

I would recommend that you spend some time with a fitter &/OR a teacher to address this. There are a few factors (other than the shaft or loft of the club) that can effect launch

Angle of Attack - how the club is delivered to the ball - Are we hitting down on it? hitting up on it? or pretty level?

The path of the club (out to in, in to out)

Face Angle at impact (open or closed)

If you can get on video, it will begin to shed some light.

First you can change the loft of your driver. That would be the easiest. If you have an adjustable driver, then change the setting to a higher loft or more upright lie angle. If that doesn't work, then you need a softer shaft.[quote user="lennie d"]
