    Hi TT,

This winter, I got a birdie ball putting green, and while I love it, I have to say I'm even more impressed by the birdie ball.  The folks were cool enough to toss in a box of birdie balls, and man, they're cool.  If you like to hack up your yard or the local park, you've gotta check them out.

They're like a whiffle ball, but way better.  They fly like a real golf ball- same height, trajectory, curvature, but no distance.  The ball just gets up there and falls out of the sky.  I hit my 7 iron a shade under 160 with a Pro V, and I hit a birdie ball about 40 yards with my 7. The best part is they make a really cool sound if you hit them well.

I've also used them to warm up if there's no driving range.  You can smack a few off the first tee while you're waiting for the group in front of you, or around the practice area without worrying about hurting someone.  I highly recommend them.

I agree with all that you said about the birdie ball. My son is 8 and he loves to practice in the yard at night hitting the birdie balls. I would recommend this product to every golfer who wants to practice at home.

I've had one for close to eight years.  When we lived in Virginia, I used to hit it around the house:  front yard to back on the right of the house; across the back yard; back yard to the front on the left side; then back to the right front.  I usually used my eight or nine iron, as those flew a good distance for this type of practice.  Haven't used it since we moved to Texas, but I like your idea of having it with me for courses with no range.

    Josh,

What were the specs on the green you received?  I have been looking into purchasing a birdie ball practice green for some time but have not yet pulled the trigger on buying one.

    Hi Jake,

I got a 4x9 foot with the dual stimp, medium speed.  I love it.  You can hit chips to it as well, and it checks up a bit.  It rolls really true, and you can tell the difference in the dual direction.

What is the difference in the dual direction?  Is it not medium stimp in both directions?

    I would say it's the difference between a slight downhill and a flat putt. I don't own a stump meter but I'd guess it's a 10 vs an 11
