I'm putting a fubiki 73x 5 ct 3 wood shaft in my 913D2 driver... What weight insert will I need to buy to give me the right swing weight?

  2. Mark, that's not a good ideal. Do yourself a favor and get fitted for that driver.I be leave it's the most important club in the bag.. good luck

Hi Mark,  Just an FYI, the 3 wood shaft would require a different adaptor as the driver adaptor is not the same one.  The other potential problem is that the 3 wood shaft is two inches shorter than the driver shaft.  In general, every 1/2 inch of shaft length is equivalent to 2-3 swingweights.  There is no weight available that could bring the swingweight back 8-10 swingweights.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, II already went ahead and bought the shaft and found out to my cost that it did not marry up. My main concern ( for me I realise) is that the 913d2 hits too high for me. Set at lowest loft on aa 9.5 degree. I hit up on the ball too. Also I need it placed on the fade setting which is not always enough. I'd love to be able to try the D4 but I don't even know whether it's going to be able to get here in left hand. I kind of wish I'd opted for the D3 at least...

AND, as a final point, I find the swing weight of the driver at least 4 points too light for me.

This is not a slight of your product, which I think is excellent, more to do with what I personally need out of a driver.

Being able to choose your swing weight off the shelf would be a great stepforward ( with no upcharge ). Who wants a set of weights? Just the one to suit...

Hi Mark,  We do have the D4 as well as the D3 available in LH, but the D4 is only available in the US.  On swingweight, you can choose your swingweight and we will build to swingweight within tolerance at no upcharge.

I like the idea of a 3w shaft in a driver. If you have the shaft a bit shorter, you will lose some distance but you will pick up accuracy and comfort swinging the club.
