The main thing is once you find what works, perfect that. Then get consistency. soon you'll be up there with the big guys

My Grandpa always said  "If you look up before you hit the ball, you're not going to like what you see."

The best tip you could get is : Find a pre-shot routine and stick too it every time you hit the ball no matter what you are hitting no matter where you are hitting from ...... Your pre-shot routine has to be the same for every shot you take so you can be prepared mentally and physically every time you swing the club. Don't believe me , watch the pro's , their pre-shot routines are golden .......

I highly recommend Butch Harmon's  book" The Pro".   His Dad,1948 Masters champ Claude, said in regards to picking a target before hitting the ball, " If you aim at nothing,  you're sure to hit it".   Best $4 I ever spent on a golf book ( Amazon).

My friend Robby has effortless power, and he says "Swing like a lady, fly 280"  not the most politically correct saying but it still rings true.

My old Golf pro says. Advice on golf is you get what you pay for. If you really want to get better at golf you should take lessons from PGA instructor. His second advice to me was dont envest in new clubs invest in lessons. Becouse this is a game you can play well into your 70's and good lessons will help you with your pasion for the game.

Please consider, John L, a trade of instructional services.  If you could teach me to strike the ball more consistently on the sweet spot, I will provide instruction to improve your spelling and grammar.

Jackie Burke says" hit the inside half of the ball" that cures alot of problems

I, personally, think the best thing to do is hit the greens in regulation. Once you get on the green, golf for most people gets a lot easier.

I agree on the G.I.R.  I know if I'm not hitting the green my scores soar.  The best tip I have for golfer's is: keep up with the group in front of you!

From Bob Rotella's book 'Golf Is Not A Game Of Perfect' and Gio Valiante's 'Fearless Golf'. Bottom line is before every shot, "What is my target ?" and then make a fearless stroke to hit that target. This has helped me get back my confidence that I lost mid summer last year until recently. Simple but effective.
