    Hello TT,

My girlfriend and I have been planning a trip to Cancun in August and I just got the ok to bring the sticks! Personally, I think any time I get on a plane I should have them with me, but my girlfriend thinks differently...

Has anyone played any courses in Cancun that could make any recommendations?

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Brenden

I'm interested in the same! I'm getting married there next year and want to play with my father and best man! I know there's gotta be somebody out there that has played there!

Myakoba is the best - not a flaw in any blade of grass.  But you may need a tee time well in advance and be prepared to play well.  It is beautiful though...

My condo is near the GN's designed Playa Mujeres Golf Club,  which is nice, but at times tourists can create slow play.

I would recommend renting clubs rather than taking your own.  Most of the facilities have really nice rental clubs that can actually be fitted temporarily.  Playa Mujeres uses CLY which I played they fairly well considering I was hung over.

Keep in mind you are on vacation there, and it is hot and humid.  Don't expect to score great - just have fun, enjoy the scenery and look forward to the evening festivities.  I hate seeing tourists come out and get so mad they scored poorly that it ruins their day.

I've been to Cancun several times.  We stayed at Moon Palace and I played their course a couple of times, which is a JN course.  They have 27 holes but only open 18 at a time, so as to work on nine of the holes without any interruptions to members while they play.  It is an incredible course.  The wife road in the cart with me and took pictures while I played.  Everything on the snack / beverage cart was included.  Afterwards the wife and I got a message together at the spa, as the club house and spa are in the same building. (it was a condition on me getting to play golf as I had never had a message before and I felt like a million bucks afterwards) It was a great trip and would highly recommend playing / staying there.  It will be the only place I stay and play while I am in Cancun now.
