    Hola TT,

I was fortunate enough to get an invite from Chris H to play PCC with a couple of his buddies.  What a great track!  The Robert Trent Jones Sr course meanders around some awesomely scenic wetlands.  The layout compliments the landscape with a great mix of risk reward holes coupled with complicated greens.  The wind really comes into play on this course as it's fairly open and right on the ocean.  There were some Par 3's that played anything from 9-5 iron depending on the breeze.  If you're ever in New Hampshire try your best to get on PCC.   It's a blast.

Even better than the course was the company.  If you get the opportunity to get to tee it up with Chris H, you should- but don't let Chris fool you- he hits a great tee ball.  I watched him chomp off most of the dogleg below.  Using more ego than anything, I bit off a little more than I could chew.  My poor ProV hit the rocks, bounced back into the drink and is now fish food.

Thanks Josh for the kind words.  You were the first TT member I had the pleasure of playing with and really enjoyed your company.  A lot of fun to play with and enjoyed chatting with you afterwards.

Definitely glad you enjoyed Portsmouth, it is a lovely course and can't wait to become a member there..  Someday I hope...

I thought for sure on the 4th hole, long par 5 (top picture you posted) you hit that good to clear the water.  A little surprised by that.

BTW, anyone need any short game tips (TW should call him) talk to Josh....  A lot of fun to watch him around the greens..

We'll have to tee it up again soon.

Good luck with your upcoming tournaments!

Great photos guys.  Portsmouth gets under rated with so many good courses around, but it is always in great shape and a true challenge but more than fair.  I hope you get in with membership before  you're in a wheelchair.  Last I knew and for the past 30 years I've known the waiting list was somewhere between 200 & 300 years or so.  But worth the wait

haha Tom B.  Believe it or not i've passed up being on the waiting list twice and would've been a member by now.  Bad timing at the time but now i'm regretting it BIG TIME.  I blame it on marriage :).   But it's not that bad, one of my neighbors got in after 2 or 3 years on the list and another neighbor got in after 2 years but opted to go back on the list.  A lot of members (mostly older people) are backing out each year b/c of the price increase and extra fee for work being done on the course.

Next time i get offered, i am not turning it down....

That's a nice looking course.  Different look from what I get here in PA.  Sounds like you had some fun.  How did you play?

I had a lot of trouble off the tee, but the old Vokey bailed me out a couple times.  The company was better than the scorecard.

    Hey tdogg21,

I usually go to PA once or twice a year in the summertime to visit my father in law.  He lives in Carlisle, PA and lives on a golf course, Mayapple?.  It's an ok course and usually end up by myself.  if you're near there, next time i'm in the area i can shoot you a message and possible get in a round if you like?

BTW and IMO Josh played very well for his first time at Portsmouth..

I'm about 30 minutes south of Mayapple, but I've never actually played there.  I've been starting to play more in that area the last year or so.  One of my best friends just moved to Harrisburg, so the Carlisle courses are in the middle for us.  Definitely let me know next time you're heading this way and we'll tee it up!

Great course, nice to see some NH love! We used to play our high school matches there and the course is occasionally in the rotation for state/seacoast amateur events. Always enjoy getting back there a few times each year, highly recommend playing if you get the chance.

Great pictures, Josh... thanks for sharing.  A little different from what we typically see here in North Texas.  You don't hear us using the phrase "fairly open and right on the ocean" when describing our courses, but we certainly have the wind here in Texas.  Glad you guys were able to get together for a round, I have met some great people here on the TT site.

Thanks for the great review Josh!  I worked at PCC for 3 summers on the maintenance crew and we appreciate you spreading the word about our hard work.  It's a great track and some of the best greens around.

    Best,

    CH

  13. Josh, great update and review!  Since we saw you in San Diego last year it seems you are making the rounds! I love it!!

If you are in the Tri-State area (Ohio/Indiana/Kentucky) look me up!

    Hi Chris,

Summer has been good to me.  I'd love to get out to there some time!  If you're ever up in the North East, please let me know.  Roll em well.
