Getting ready to go to Hilton Head for a week of vacation and (most importantly) play golf. We have gone to Hilton Head a number of times and been fortunate to play quite a few of the courses on the island. Other than Harbor Town, anybody got any recommendations of a "hidden gem" on Hilton Head? Thanks for your help!

I played all 3 of the Sea Pines courses, Harbour Town, Herron Point, and Ocean Course.  Me and my buddies all really like these course, and would be hard to find any better on the island.  They are still a bit pricy, we had the package to play all 3 for 465, at the time, 2010.  Also, we played at the Dunes, Fazio course and it was also nice.  And I have buddies who said the other 2 Dunes courses are also very nice.  Hilton Head was the best vacation I've ever had and long for the day to get back.

Good luck and have fun !!

  3. While all the big name courses are fun to play, one of my favorite "on island" golf courses that is fun to play and not too hard on the wallet is called JN Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run.

Enjoy! Keep it in the short grass!

I just returned from Hilton Head.  Got to play twice.  Palmetto Dunes, RTJ course and the Fazio course.  Both excellent layouts and in great shape.  FYI, Fazio course doesn't have a driving range and a small practice green.

    Have fun,
