if you have been to Augusta, what was the best thing you did while you were there? If not what is your favorite moment in masters history? While I have never been to Augusta, Jack Nicklaus' final green jacket at 46 is my favorite moment. Jack

I've been lucky enough to have been to Augusta 7 times. Every time I walk on the grounds I still get that overwhelming feeling of what has taken place there and the people that have graced the ground I was walking on. My most memorable moment was many years ago when I was standing on the back of #9 green late in the day (on a practice day) and watching Mr. Player play the last hole of his day. Once Mr Player arrived at the green (with only 5 of us die hards still there)he walked over to us and started to tell us a story of how quick and painful #9 green can be. He said, "I was playing with a young lad one practice round and he had never played #9. I brought him to this spot (back right of the green) and bet him $700 he could not put the ball from this location and be within 20 feet of the hole" (we were about 15 from the hole at the time). Mr Player then placed a ball at his feet and gave it the gentlest of strokes. We watched as the ball creeped to the hole, then past, then broke hard left ran out to about 30 yards off the front of the green. We were all in total awe. If that doesn't give you a perspective of just how fast and tough it is to play there, I don't know what else could. Besides the fact that I had blisters on my feet just from walking up and down #10 once,TV just doesn't do it for this dream of a place. That was 10 years ago and still lay's solid in my head this time every year. I truly believe there isn't a more beautiful place on earth as Augusta National. Maybe that's the reason my basement (man cave) is all Augusta. One day, I will return to Golfers Heaven. Thanks for reading and thanks for the place to post my memories.

I've not had the distinct pleasure of visiting Augusta and the Master's Tournament.  However, my favourite moments of the Masters is the "Magnificent Masters" of 1975 where Jack bested both an in form Weiskopf and Player of the Year - J. MIller.

As a kid, I remember watching some of the highlights on television.  Of course, the win in 1986 by Jack is also a top moment as well!
