Hey Team Titleist,

The new Vokey TVD-M and TVD-K models, two of Vokey’s most-requested grinds on the PGA
Tour, are available beginning May 7 on Vokey.com and through authorized Titleist accounts as
part of the WedgeWorks Exclusives lineup. Each model is offered in two finishes (California
Chrome and Black Ion) and fully-customizable – from length, lie, loft and weight porting, to toe
engraving, personalized stamping, custom grips, shafts, shaftbands and ferrules.

All TVD wedges now feature the new, deeper Spin Milled TX3 grooves, delivering more spin
for precision trajectory and distance control and improved greenside performance. TX3
scorelines, a progressive design with seven percent larger groove volume, produce additional
backspin by channeling away grass and sand for improved contact between the ball and
groove edge. Proprietary Spin Milled technology also provides trajectory and distance control
through precisely milled grooves and machined face texture, significantly reducing the chance
of “flyers” from the rough.

Does the Black Ion Rust? LH for both? Thanks

Brian D

Love the new line-up, thanks for sharing the good news.

Jacob,

The LH options will come in both finishes for the TVD-K, but just the California Chrome in the TVD-M.  The Black Ion is a stained finish and can rust over time when exposed to moisture.

Hey there Cameron,

So, what are the different characteristics (feel, wear) between the Black Ion on the TVD and the raw black on the SM5's? You mention the stained finish and rust, am I to assume the same can/will happen with the SM5?

Thanks!

Cameron, One other question: What would be the difference between the TVD California Chrome and the SM5 Tour Chrome? Any? Thanks! Paul

Awesome News! I would have loved to see a lower bounce option in the K Grind (As most of the tour players use). Quick Question; are the groves heat treated?

Thanks Cameron!!

The California Chrome is a satin finished chrome.  A little brighter than the SM4's, but not as bright as the new Tour Chrome.

Hi Paul, The Raw Black is similar to an Oil Can, but is double dipped (QPQ) whereas the Oil Can is single dipped.  Both will rust eventually because they are not plated.  The Black Ion is a thin ion plated finish so it will wear off, but you should not see it rust like a Raw Black.  Feel should be very similar.

My 58 degree is about 10 years old and the face is quite worn.  Does it make a difference for a 14 handicap amateur to have fresh grooves?
