Hi all!  I have just been fitted for a new set of AP2 irons...4-PW+GW...TT Dynamic Gold, S300, 2 degrees flat.  I would like to add a Sand Wedge and a Lob wedge to this setup.  There are quite a few options out there for me to choose from...looking for some options from you Vokey experts.  I generally take a medium divot.

The PW in the AP2 is 46 degrees, and the GW is 50.  So I think I'd be looking at a 56 degee SW and a 60 degree LW...but would appreciate your input.

Thanks so much!  Next up is replacing my 975J driver...but that will be much more difficult than giving up my png i3 O-size irons , LOL.

That would be a nice setup. Possibly a 62° even. I play ap2s and have a big jump from my pw to a 54 & 62 vokey. I love my 62 it's so versatile! And as far as your driver dilemma I recommend a 915 of course. Really the whole lineup is so solid right now from the 910/913 & 915. They are all great clubs just get fitted for the proper shaft and loft etc! Look forward to seeing some photos of the bag!

    Thanks, Luke!

What 54 do you have?  I will try out the 62 tomorrow when I go back to the shop.

I tried both of the 915 drivers...I snap hooked both of them something awful...they're so light compared to my 975J.  That will be a whole session in itself, LOL.

i have a 54.10 M Grind and yes try a 62! I have played one for 5 years plus and will never take it out of the bag!

Oh wow on stock shafts? I play a 86 gram x stiff shaft so that would be hard to snap hook haha and how fast is your swing speed? The great thing about the 915 is there is so many great stock factory shafts

    I currently play the stock PW (in 712 AP2s), 54* and 59*.

I need to pick up some new wedges.  The stock PW is 57*.  Thinking of 50*, 55*, 60*.

I think you mean 47* :) I went with the 52.08F, 56.10M, and the 60.07S after my fitting for my AP2 irons.

I did.  That was a typo there.

How do you find the gap between your PW and 52?

So far so good...I can choke down on the P if I need to take a little off...I had a less than full swing today that worked in nicely.

  9. I play 714 AP2s with Vokey 50/8 54/10 58/7 wedges. Can pretty much hit any shot needed with this setup. About a 15 yard spread between the wedges - including the AP2 PW.

I went 54 and 58 with my set, and it works great, without having the big gap between 50 & 56 that I used to have with my previous set.  The 54 is really versatile, and became my 'go-to' wedge around the greens, and the low bounce on the 58 allows me to still open it up and flop it like a 60.

  11. John,

I recently made this same order with KBS c-tapers in my 714 AP2. I also ordered the AP2 PW and GW at 46 and 50*. I complimented that with a 54* S grind and a 58* K grind. This has fit my distance gaps well and I can lay the face open on the K grind very easily if I need any more loft out of my 58*.

    Abu Dhabi,

    Hi guys, I play AP2 714 (4-P) with S300 stiff also and have 3 SM5s in the bag - 52-8 F, 56-14 F and 60-11 K grind.

My advice would be to get fitted to know your bounce and grinds to suit the courses you play regularly. I play in UAE where the courses are a lot harded and struggled with them a bit recently in Australia in the cold, wet courses :)

Next addition to the bag also to be 915 Driver and 3 Wood !!

even if you don't get fit for the wedges, you should talk to the fitter about what you should do about the gaps. I've already scheduled a full-bag fitting in October in MASS. Only looking at irons right now, but I realize that there are gaps that will need addressing and better to have the experts tell me their suggestions. Good luck and let us know what you go with. Whatever degree you go with for the lob wedge, definitely get the back part of the sole ground off. That way when you open the face, the leading edge still sits flat on the ground.
