  1. Hello TT And Vokey!  Wondering if the SM5 or K Grind Wedges would accept a UST Recoil shaft? In either the 95 or 110? Would lighter weight be an issue in these wedges? Just considering a set that would be the same shaft all the way from 5 iron through the wedges.

    Thanks!

Hi Paul,  Any iron shaft can be put into our Vokey wedges.  The Recoil shafts in either the 95 or the 110 will build approximately one swingweight lighter than standard whether you are building them in irons or wedges.

  3. Thanks for the info, Cathi. So, if I wanted to put the Recoil 110 in a 716 AP2 set (4-GW), would you recommend going to a Recoil 125 shaft for two wedges (54, 58 deg)? My past Vokey's have usually been DG S200 shafts.

    All the best,

    Paul

Hi Paul,  If you have been effective using your wedges with S200 shafts, you can probably continue to use them with that shaft.  If you find yourself using either of these wedges for a lot of full shots and are coming up short, you may want to consider going to the same shaft as in your irons.  It will however, take some getting used to, because on the shorter partial shots, the shaft will not bend at the same time, will be lighter and softer than an S200, so your timing will be slightly different.

  5. That makes good sense, Cathi.  Appreciate the feedback. Have to decide if I want Recoils in irons and if I want them in wedges as well.  I've played Nippon NS Pro 105T in the AP2 line for 8 years. Now with the new 716's coming out, I've got to decide if I want to keep that shaft, or go to more of a mid-launch shaft (716's seem to launch a bit higher than the 714's). That's why I was looking also at the Nippon NS Pro 970 as well as the Recoils. But then I wasn't sure how much a Recoil would be different from steel in a wedge shaft.

Are the NS Pro 970 and Recoils both more a mid-launch than a mid-high launch?

    Decisions...Decisions....

    Thanks again!

    Paul
