I use a SM5 55.09 S grind versus my normal SM6 56.14 F grind. It was originally a 56.10* and I had my fitter/repairer bend it to meet the type of conditions you mentioned, based on the recommendation of my teaching pro.

I believe the F grind is great for tight lies.

I have two F grinds and find them to perform well in tight lies.
  5. Id say that if you are playing out of dirt bunkers the L grind would be best. You will have loft and be able to dig more into the sand(dirt).

    Hi Jerrold N:

    Thank you for your question.

Bounce and grind selection is critical. It is important to play the most bounce given your swing type and course conditions.

In general, the firmer the conditions, the less bounce you want to play. If you are talking about a 60° wedge, the 60.04 L Grind or 60.08 M Grind are great options for firm lies and bunkers.

If you have a shallow angle of attack, and are playing very firm conditions, we would lean towards testing a 60.04L. If you have a slightly steeper angle of attack, and looking for a little more forgiveness, we would recommend testing the 60.08 M.

We would highly recommend visiting your local Titleist Certified Fitter to be properly fit for the correct bounce/loft/grind for your game.

I play a very fast and firm golf course and the M grind works great.
