Bounce and Grind

KLarkey

Was wondering what bounce would be best for a lob wedge where I am looking for High bounce when square and low amount of bounce when it is opened? I tend to be a digger and come in steep on full shots so I need the high bounce to help with that. When I open the face to hit flops with high bounce wedges I struggle to slide under and feel like it catches the bounce and sends the ball too far too often. Just wondering if there is a wedge grind and bounce combo to help out with this. Thanks.

I am the same way, I think it would make more sense in this case to focus on the grind first then bounce second. For instance a V Grind with 10 degrees of bounce will perform different than a S Grind with 10 degrees bounce. I would consider seeing about a demo day and trying them out...you will need more heel relief to open the club up with less effective bounce and examples are L and M grinds for instance however there are others out there! Have fun experimenting.

Chris92009 is correct, The best way to truly find the best wedge for your game is to get fit and hit them side by side. Titleist Thursday's are great opportunity to be fit by the best.

From what you have described, the V grind and High Bounce M from WedgeWorks would be good options.

If you are interested in hitting these options, please have your local fitter contact Team Titleist to supply a demo of the V or High Bounce M as these are not included in most standard demo packs.

I compared 58-08M vs 58-04L and it seemed the M grind was easier to hit off a hardpan lie and yet still does well on soft lies.

    For me, the SM4 54-10M and 60-10M worked. Also the 62-07 and 64-07 (T grind I believe).

The SM5 54-10S and 58-08M wedges work nicely (I have them in my other bag).
