Has anyone sent their putter into the shop? if so what changes did you make, and did you like the result? I'm thinking of sending mine in, but i don't know how much time it will take and if i want to drop the money.

    Thanks

I know lots of people that have sent putters to the custom shop and all of them have been really happy with the results. I've seen restorations of putters that looked dead and when finished looked like new. It depends on what you what done, bumper stamping, paintfill change, restoration, other types of stamps, reshaft. I think that a restoration is about 50 days and custom work about 20 days although it varies.

I've sent quite a few putters to the custom shop throughout the years. There have been a couple of beaters that I found used that were transformed into like-new putters.  I've also sent in others for limited grips or stamps. All in all, great work at the custom shop.

I've sent 2 in both for paint and stamps.  Both came back looking great.  Turn around is about spot on with what the custom shop has listed on their site.  20 days is pretty dead on.  May be sooner or later depending on what you are having done.

I have recently sent in three putters for custom shop work: 1) Futura X5R for decreasing the weight and additional sight lines and paint; 2) Futura X for the same reasons; and 3) Select Squareback which I bought used and was pretty beat up.  I had it refinished in black with really cool new orange sight lines, diminished weights, followed by finding a Scotty Halloween putter cover.  It is awesome!!!  And I sunk an 81 foot putt with it recently.  Looks great and feels even better.  Bring money but its worth it.

I SENT MINE BACK TO THEM TO CUSTOMIZE ABOUT 6 OR 7 YEARS AGO AND IT STILL LOOKS FRESH, THEY DO A GREAT JOB I HAD THEM DO THE 3 COLOR SET UP LIME GREEN, TANGERINE ORANGE AND WHITE.  LIME GRIP AND LIME JUNKYARD DOG COVER WITH JUNKYARD DOG SHAFT BAND. HAD THEM PUT THE MONEY STAMP ON EDGE OF FACE.  IT IS SO WORTH THE MONEY YOU CANNOT BELEIVE THE COMMENTS YOU WILL GET ON THE COURSE.

    Sam,

I have sent in numerous putters (60+) over the years and had only great experiences plus it is a nice way to personalize your gamers!  It takes about three weeks for a standard spa treatment (stamping, shaft change, etc...) whereas a restoration takes about 1-2 months.  If you do a resto you can also change the color of the putter in many cases!

Have fun with it and I would say it worth the cost.

    Good Luck!

I agree with everyone on here.  I sent mine in at the end of last year; got a line put on so i can center the ball, customized it a little with some slogan and i think that was it..  When i got it back, it looked BRAND NEW and didn't even have it restored.  I was very impressed and IMO it was well worth the money.  I bought another Scotty putter on eBay and may send that in at some point.

It took about a month for me to get it back so that's why i waited until the winter time to do it.  Right when you start the process it does tell you 20-50 days depending on what you're doing.

Highly recommend it if you can swing the cost and wait

Sent my 2001 Studio Design 1 for complete restoration. Got it back yesterday, simply beautiful. Very satisfied. Worth the money if you treasure your putter like I do.

I sent mine in this past fall (Xmas present to myself). I wanted the face resurfaced, my initials engraved on the face, repainted, and a new grip. When I bought it (used) there was a dent on the top of the putter near the face. When I got it back, it looked like a brand new putter. I did not opt for the total putter resurfacing but I must of got one. The dent was gone. I absolutely loved the work that was done on it. Highly recommended and well worth the money!!  Brian F.
