Wow - the Masters is over and the golf season is about to start. The discussion board has been extremely quiet lately. Can I assume that everyone is out shopping for new clubs, clothes, bags, balls, etc... ?

I have my first round planned with a foursome on Thursday. Looking forward to knocking the rust off my swing and seeing how well the putting mat in the Basement Golf and Country Club transposes to the real thing :)

Hope to see everyone back with some stories soon !

    Hi Darius,

Sure is nice to be out golfing again. In my opinion I really think the new format has taken away from our local Canadian forum and thus has not been successful in keeping the casual surfer engaged. All the best this season

I also have to agree with Alex Z on this one! the form is very "blah" no photos no background all just one colour kinda hard to navigate! hope they hear what we are saying and can make it a little more appealing

Still around, but have been out practicing and playing for the last few weeks. The weather and course conditions have improved immensely.

Still on but now that the good weather is here, it's practice time.  I must admit that being part of the global Team Titleist does have an effect like someone said earlier.

    Hi TT

I am also around and also on the FJ site. Find it harder to interact with the global Team. seems different. Hoping to get out next week when this weather leaves

hey Darius. Some of us are still around. I check the boards here and there, but have to admit it doesn't feel like home anymore. When it was our own site for Canada (not just a regional) things seemed to change and not the same. Anyways, I have been playing around (innerkip, tarandowah, listowel) and this weekend Deer Ridge finally opens. Hopefully you get some nice temps up in Barrie. Your the life blood here Darius. Keep up the good work. James

Darius, All good here too! I would think the weather has brought the mood down too. What a brutal winter. Our club opens today and its hailing/raining in Niagara. I am looking forward to my fitting early May at Eagles nest with Chris Welton though! I will share my experience as others have on the forum too.

Ya I have found that ever since they changed the site we have lost the personal connection. Ive been around hitting the ball and getting ready for my first round. Have you been out anywhere yet Darius? Cheers Steve H.

    Hey guys,

I have been checking the boards every week or so to see if i could add anything. However, i recently suffered a knee injury while playing hockey (what else would i do in the winter) and it has sidelined me for awhile. Its been quite a process so far and to be quite honest, took the wind out of my sails.  So basically i was taking lessons once a week for the winter to get ready for this year and was really excited to get going. About a week before the Masters a knee on knee hit put me out. I knew right away something was wrong and it wasn't just a little bruise.  I was planning on playing a few weeks ago to start the season here as the courses started to open, obviously that never happened.  I am working at getting back to swinging as soon as possible. Going out this weekend with some friends for a little tournament, nothing crazy but i will be chipping and putting for sure.  I realized that although my season will be delayed and likely a little shortened, I look to the positives.  That being, I should have an incredible short game by the time I return!   Take care everyone!  I hope that if there is any sort of TT meet ups anywhere i can make it out!

    Lee...

So sorry to hear about your knee. That really sucks to have it happen so close to the beginning of golf season.

As you noted however - you will be able to improve your short game. It is for people like you that I am glad they have golf carts. Simply cannot imagine not being able to go out at all because of a bum knee.

Hope it improves quickly and your season gets under way soon.

    Hey Darius,

I am still here, too, but I am bit more in lurking mode that I was before.  I share the sentiments others have said above.

I played my first round in Canada in 2015 last weekend, and have another planned for this coming Sunday - weather permitting.  Brutal winter here in the Montreal area, so I'm certainly looking forward to that "warmer than average spring" that is predicted.  Little hard to believe , as the thermometer is currently reading 2°C this AM...

    Regards,

I have just found the new board setup...

I have played one round outside and hit some balls outside for the past week.

I have been working on my game all winter on my Skytrak and Next setup in my garage.

Can't wait to play again and when everything is dried up here in Montreal.

Hi Darius, Steve and I have been out a couple times....actually I've been out four times.....the joys of being self employed is that one can free up time if necessary. The past few days have been too cold to get out but I'm hoping to be back at it by Tuesday. Is anyone playing the 27 hole two player tourney at Bear Creek (Utopia)on May 24th? We'll be there and I hope to see a few TT members out.
