Went for my fitting today at Rivertowne CC with Titleist Product Specialist Billy Forbes and found out a lot of new things about my needs. He knows his stuff. His calendar is full up and down the coast of the Carolinas. Tried out the new 917D2 9.5*, head on my current Black Rogue shaft 12grm neutral, and WOW that thing is hot. Set it at A4 and POW. Tried the new Rogue MAXX 12grm neutral, and not too impressive for my swing. Spin rate to high at 3000. Billy then put the Fujikura Speeder Tour Pro TS 64 (70grm) + 1/2", 10grm draw in my hands. Ball speed 133mph, spin rate at 2400, WOW and POW, and HOT off the face from the first swing. Long and accurate 11 yards father than my current driver. The accuracy was amazing and the feel. SOLD. On the way back from the fitting, went by my buddies shop and order the club. Hope to see it in ten days. Amaziiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnng. Need a new driver for the TT Invitational in September. That should be enough time to break it in.

I've had 910 and 913. Didn't get enough benefit with a 915 to replace the 913. I normally only expect incremental improvements from release to release, but the 917 with a great fitter (Dino at Oceanside) is a monster. I'm consistently 20 yards further. That and the 2017 "V" has made my game a whole lot more fun this year than last. Added a 917 F 5W, adding 15 yards over a 915 to get me to the longer par 3s. If they get the same secret sauce right in the 718 irons, I might be forced to upgrade those as well.

Boo booed on the loft. Is a 10.5. We got my distance up to a little over 240 yards and for an old dude like myself who will be 71 in September, I am pretty satisfied. Once I get my new midsize grips on it and break it in, I expect the new driver to go a bit farther. Now, once my new midsize staff bag gets here, I will definitely be set for the upcoming tournament season and our summer travels. Hope I draw a good partner for the four-ball event at the TPC the end of September. Thank you Titleist and my right honorable friend Billy for his assistance.
