I have now played three rounds with 1 test ball (red numbers). I have pounded with the driver, ripped at it with the Vokeys, banged off trees and bounced off cart paths.  And ........ Plan to play another round with the same ball this week (weather permitting). Is there any way this test ball can be a PRO V1x prototype? If it is, I hope the scientists behind it get a BIG HOLIDAY BONUS! Anyone else getting awesome durability during testing?

I played with the ProV1x + during a round in Vegas a few weeks ago. They were Awesome! Can't wait for them to come out on the market!

I HAVE TRIED THE NEW BALL AND FOUND IT TO BE LONGER OFF THE TEE; HOWEVER, I HAVE TROUBLE MAKING IT STOP ON THE GREENS WITH MY APPROACH SHOTS. OVERALL, I LIKE THE BALL AND WOULD NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM RECOMMENDING IT TO MY FELLOW GOLFING FRIENDS.

From what I was told by a local Titleist tour rep was that the red numbers are the new PRO V1X but that was about as much info as he would give me. He said that we should expect them to be available in February around the same time as the 913 Fairway and Hybrids.

Agreed, I love the new prototypes.  Longer off the tee, softer feel, and IMO easier to play.  The best part of the ball was the durability though.  I played one round with a golf ball and didn't see a nick on it.  I hope that Titleist does produce this new line.

all of the above is true, I was one of the lucky few who got to try out the new PRO V1X Proto's and the ball flight was amazing and a full swing with my wedges didn't so much as scratch the new covers.  Bottom line....I'm going to pick up a few dozen as soon as they come out.

  7. The day before Thanksgiving I did the ball testing with the prototype Titleist with red numbers. Played 36 holes with the same ball, it looked almost new when I was done. LOVE the new ball!

I played the week before and the Sunday before Thanksgiving with the same prototype as well.  Great feel and durability and definitly longer will all clubs but still had the same soft feel around the greens.  Still the best in my book!

I also tested the Titlest with the RED numbers and found the durabilty to be outstanding!  Two round with each ball wih hardly a mark and NO SHEARING!  Ball held up extremely well against my Vokey wedges and did not have the "excess" spin when compared to the ProV1x I normally play.   Can't wait for these to hit the market!

Joe I'd def have to agree with you on that. I had the chance to test these prototype balls out with the red number and love them. I feel like I got a few yards extra out of the driver but got less of a ballon ball flight which is one the problems I have with golf ball and driver fittings. I can't wait till these actually hit stores if its the new x cause im def gonna get some.

My dreaded miss, a snap hook, occurred on my 4th hole with my proto Pro V1.  Cart path -direct shot.  I was expecting the ball's short life to be over.  When I found it, I picked it up and to my amazement, it hardly had a blemish.  Just a tiny dark spot with a scratch that more resembled a shot hit thin.  Played the ball the rest of the way.  Couldn't believe it.

I agree with all of the above.  Just a little less spin, but the covers are space age- very durable.  Thanks again Titleist, keep sending the Test balls and we'll keep hitting them.

I tested 3 balls for about 3-4 rounds.  Several yards longer and straighter than previous for me...adequate spin.  I was driving the ball about 250-260 -- and I will be 62 in a few days.  Just one problem...the putts still stop on the rim!!
