    Hey Team Titleist,

Some of us were recently talking about why we play the Pro V1 or Pro V1x. I play the Pro V1x because I am a high spin player and the Pro V1x gives me less spin into the greens, resulting in more control.

We want to know which ball each of you play and why!

Hopefully all of you will get to tee it up this weekend with your favorite ball.

    Talk soon,

    Bubba

Bubba, most often I will play the 1x, but if I don't have those handy I will play the 1.
I am an equal opportunity ProV player.

    Great post, Bubba.

I'm a PRO V1 for the look and feel.

I'm old school.  Back in the day, Black on Black Titleist 100 was the best ball used by the pros.

It was the holy grail of golf balls.

Black on Black PROV1 for me.  (But I'll never turn down any Titleist ball!)

You can never have enough new Titleist golf balls.

    Thanks again!

    Hi Bubba

    I play the ProV1

It feels softer when hitting an Iron plus I don't have the speed to lift the X model to get the proper ball flight. Also, the ProV1 doesn't scuff as much as the X.

Too much driver spin with the Pro V1 so I always use the X now.

Prov 1x here. Play it for the reliability . Always reacts the same. No surprises ..

I recently switched from the Pro V1 to the 1x because I went through a titleist ball fitting and realized I, too, am a high spin player. Since making the switch I've picked up a few yards distance without losing the short game spin I got with the Pro V1. If you haven't gone through a ball fitting, I highly recommend it. You learn a lot about what the golf ball is doing when you hit it and using track man is pretty cool too.

  8. How would the spin change off the driver for a player with the D2 vs. D3 models? any difference with these balls?? Just curious...

    Hi Chris,

    Thanks for the question.

The 913D2 and D3 heads differ slightly with regards to spin. The D2 produces a slightly higher spin rate Vs. the D3 due to its shallower head.

    Hope this helps.

With my 8.5* D3, (also dialed down .75*), I see consistently more distance with the ProV1 compared to the V1x. No difference around the green, but my drives are consistently 5-15 yards further with the V1.

Personally, I play the Pro V1x because I am able to reduce my spin rate but also have a ball that provides excellent feel on those "touch" shots around the greens.  The ball has to work for your from tee to green, and the ProV1x is the best ball I have found all around on the course for my specific swing nuances.

    Pro V1x.

Love the way it performs on and around the greens and for me it feels the best with the putter.   Also get good distance off the tee and it feels great with iron shots.

I play the x for more distance off the tee and because on most of my approach shots it stops less than 1 foot from where it lands on the green, except for severe downhill situations.

I play the pro v1x for its long straight distance and green side control, this checks and stops perfectly from a 50 yard pitch. I will continue to play the pro v1x as long as titleist continues to make it.

Pro V1x - the ball seems to always do the same thing -  the feel with my iron, spin, and bounce all seem to perform a certain way (some of it may be mental but I go with the X)

I've used A Pro V1 since they were launched (pardon the pun ) I play Links golf in NE Scotland so a low draw is my natural swing path. I need a higher spin rate for better control. I also think the Pro V1 rolls off my (scotty) putter better. I've used Titleist for close to 30 years since the first Tour Balata 100 to my personal favourite the Tour Prestige. Having experimented with various balls over the years I have always , without fail , returned to titleist.

Haven't really tried the Pro-V1 as the ball fitting on line suggested the 1x as my primary.  I'm in position more often to hit GIRs than I ever have been with balls designed to boom at my driver speed.  It's partly with distance after the carry that is helping get in position.  I could try other balls, but I'm happy with the results now.  Along with some shaft adjustments, I'm consistently gaining 10-20 yards over last year when I would still sneak in some of my older non-Titleist stock..

I have been playing PRO V's for the last 4 years and I am VERY satisfied.  I lean toward the PRO V1x because it helps give me optimal launch while still giving me great feel around the green. Also, when the greens around here are soft it seems to spin a little less (which is nice since a couple par 3 here you can back up into the water).  Other balls have simular distance, but at a loss of short game feel.  The older Pro V's were awesome for feel and very good distance, yet the cover was easily roughed up with my 2009 version Vokey's.  The newProV  versions seem to be more durable and still have good feel and spin.

I got a sleeve prototype balls with a Black Circle and a sleeve with a Black Square on them this winter and have been testing them.  Seem a little harder sound of the club face, yet the characteristics around green is still very good.  It was windy when I tried them out and I noticed a very piercing ball flight and very good distance.  Didn't notice much difference between the two though.

    Thanks,

    Virgil R.

A very happy Titleist products supporter

I prefer the Pro V1, yes it provides a little more spin, but I find that helps me focus more on my drive so I can avoid my slice (tho I was told it was called a power fade this weekend).  I won't turn down a Pro V1x tho, I find it works about as well around the green for me, but now that I am actually hitting my approach onto the green, I definitely prefer the Pro V1.

    Hey Bubba,

I play the ProV1x for the extra distance it give me off the tee, aswell as the wonderful control around the greens. Gotta love those balls!

I play the Pro V1x - I like the extra distance off the tee and less spin with my draw bias flight. But, there's plenty of spin around the greens with this ball.  There's nothing like the low spinning pitches and chips that hop once or twice, then spin to a stop!!!

As much as I love the feel of the ProV1, I find that they just spin a bit too much.  The ProV1x jests fits my game a bit better.

I play the Pro V1 because I found it to be the most consistent ball around and on the green. It's hard enough to gauge each course's greens speed, so I need a ball that putts consistently to adapt to each course. My Pro V1 ball flight and my distance is superior to any other ball I've tried. That's why I play "Titleist" Joe T, Birdie Boy.

I love both the balls but the ProV, to me, has as better feel coming off the putter.  The V1X feels a little harder which I don't care for as much.

I play the ProV1x because after comparing it to the 1 the 1x worked better for my game and that is what I am looking for.

Bubba-Have used ProV1X, since Titleist  introduced it. I agree, not only with less Spin &Control approaching Greens, but also Distance, Best Ball, available in the Market  today! Your Team, does a GREAT Job! Please don't forget, I am still on Your list, of Testing Team?

    Bubba-

I play the Pro V1 over the Pro V1x.  I enjoy the spin, super soft feel, and control from the Pro V1 and don't have to worry about less spin from the Pro v1x off the tee and longer irons as i naturally hit the ball pretty far.  The main reason i play Pro V1 one is confidence, i know when i stand over a pro V1 it is guaranteed to be consistent every time whether its driving or putting or anything in between.

In my honest opinion Pro V series golf balls are hands down the best balls you can play!

I play the Pro V1x as it's all about spin for me.  I am a high spin player who enjoys the distant control of the 1x with the wedges while minimizing the spin off the driver.  The Pro V1 simply spins to much on the greens for me making it far to difficult attacking back pin positions.

I play the ProV1 because of the way it reacts on the green! Like seeing my shot hug the green and not roll off like with other balls! But will still pull out 1x from time to time!!

I play both. Can't get enough titleist golf balls or hats for that matter. I really like the consistence I get from them. Titleist is by far the best equipment company through out the entire bag. I have played them for the last twenty years and cannot see my changing. Keep up the excellent work.

I play the 1X for it's performance.  It reduces my driver spin and gives me better carry and rollout.  I also like the firmer feel off the putter and the combination of the 1X and my Futura Phantom mallet works very well.  Bottom line, I score better with the 1X.

I've been playing pro v1's and pro v1x since they came out, I don't know when that was but a long time. I try other balls now and then but never can find a ball that is all around as good as the pro v, it is longer off the tee for me and I'm 70yrs old, so I don't see myself changing. Just a great ball, Rodger

I play both balls, prefer the Pro V1x. meets all my expectations, distance and spin around the greens. I'm a senior player like colored golf balls. Titleist your missing out on a large market for making prov's in colors, ie yellow and lime green. Seniors will buy them easier to see. NXT and NXTs just don't do the job. Pass on the suggestion or comment, on Why not make them!! thanks.

    +1

I had used the NXT Tour S and DT SoLo for awhile because they're available in Yellow. However, I prefer the Pro V1x does it all for my game. Just wish I could purchase it in Yellow. What are you waiting for Titleist?
