I am sorry to hear about what happened to your equipment, but was there an option to call your insurance company and file a claim for all of that? Depending on where you bought your Titleist equipment may be the reason for no free items. I wouldn't go on blasting Titleist by saying they are like another company, just because you had an unfortunate experience. Again, I am truly sorry for your loss, but look at the bright side, you got all new equipment and learned the lesson that we always fear learning from first-hand experience.

i would send you some balls, but lost them

Trey, I have no insurance so I paid out of my savings. The reason I'm BLASTING TITLEIST is because they don't allow thier retailors to discount thier stuff. Any other company gives discounts. I went to Dicks, Edwin Watts, and Golfsmith. They all told me they can't take 10 cents off any Titleist product. thanks, Mark

Claim it through your insurance and get quotes from your local Titleist Rep.

When was the last time your grocery store gave you a free bag of groceries?

Sorry to hear that somebody swiped your equipment, that person needs to be hit with a stick in the shins for a month straight.  My advice would be to get renters or homeowners insurance, so if this was to ever happen again, it would not cost an arm and leg to replace your stuff.   I hope you can find out who did this and exact some sort of justice, or just see them get cuffed and hauled off to jail for a while.

mark if you paid full price when you first purchased the golf items, what makes you feel that you deserve a discount when you replaaced them. i sold golf clubs part time to support my golf and when a customer came in that like you lost their clubs (no matter how) he had to pay our prices. if he spent a large sum like you did we would give him a bonus like a few sleeves of balls or something like that but why should titleist give a discount to anyone. you what good equipment you pay for it or look for closeouts!!

Brent, We are not talking about groceries. But since you mentioned it, grocery stores have sales and coupons. All's im trying to say is Titleist is taking advantage of people. Every company in the world discounts golf merchandise except titleist.

Hi Mark,

I'm really sorry to hear about your golf bag being stolen. It really is an unfortunate situation that you never want to happen to any golfer. I can certainly appreciate your frustration in the scenario and I'm sure you would rather be replacing your gear under different circumstances.

As for your question around complimentary merchandise, as you can imagine we receive many requests throughout the course of a year. The cost of honoring all such requests would be prohibitive, and, because we do not want to discriminate by honoring some and not others, it is company policy to refrain from providing complimentary merchandise. We hope you understand our position in this matter and truly appreciate your continued support of Titleist.

Please feel free to send me a personal message if you have any other questions or would like to discuss further.

All the best,
Mike

Leroy- You PROOVED MY PIONT. You said you would give somebody a few balls. Thats great!! Down here in South Florida they don't give nothing. The rep told me if they where any other brand of clubs they could do something. I didn't mind buying the clubs the first time cause it was buy a club here and there. But when you spend a large some of money and the dealer won't even give you a few sleeves of balls, thats Titleist. A few sleeves of balls or a hat or a towel would have gave me more respect for titleist. I went to Dicks, Edwin Watts, and Golfsmith. They all say the same thing. I have a coupon for 50.00 off a 200.00 purchase at Golfsmith. After I spent a few thoudsand dollars they told me they can't honor the 50.00 on Titleist stuff.

Mike, Thanks for your taking the time with your input. If the equipment wasn't so good , I wouldn't buy it. Maybe I'll be lucky and get to test something from titleist. Thanks, Mark

I am really sorry for your loss. If my clubs got stolen I would probably do two things. Cry then call the CIA to track down whoever did it. I am really sorry!

"The rep told me if they where any other brand of clubs they could do something"

Clearly not a club manufacturer rep, I think you meant a store salesman. And he lied. Just try to get any Ping products at a discounted price that is not authorized by Ping. They will yank the account of any merchant selling their products at the least little discount.

One of the reasons for this is to protect the merchants that provide you with additional services over those that provide none. For example you go to the local golf shop, try out all the different clubs, get the recommendations from the trained staff, then you go to joeblow.com to order your equipment at a discounted price. With these price restrictions in place you do yourself a disservice by going to joeblow.com because you will be paying the same price + you will not have any after sales service.

If the major companies allowed unrestricted pricing, then everyone would do as described, and soon the local golf shops would be out of business.

QH, YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT ABOUT THE SMALL STORES (MA AND PA) GOING OUT OF BUSNINESS, THE STORE I HAD WORKESD FOR IN PARK RIDGE IL WAS IN BUSNINESS FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND AFTER THE SON EXPANDED TO A BIGGER LOCATION BECAUSE OF ALL THE FAMILIES HARD WORK, HE FINALLY HAD TO CLOSE BECAUSE OF THE LOW BALLING DONE BY THE BIG BOX STORES. WE WOULD DO A HALF HOUR FITTING, THAN THE CUSTOMER WOULD LEAVE AND GET A CHEAPER PRICE AND ASK IF WE WOULD HONOR IT. IF WE WOULD REFUSE BECAUSE OF THE TIME WE SPENT ON THEM, THEY WOULD GET MAD AND BUY FROM THE CHEAPER STORE. YOU CAN'T DO ANY THING ABOUT IT. TITLEIST AND OTHER CLUB MAKERS HAVE TO DO THIS TO HONOR AND PROTECT THEIR SHOPS SELLING THEIR CLUBS AND OTHER ITEMS. MARKS BEEF IS WITH THE STORE HE PURCHASED HIS CLUBS FROM NOT WITH TITLEIST, TITLEIST WAS NOT THE ONE WHO PREVENTED MARK FROM GETTING A PERK FOR BUYING CLUBS AND SPENDING A LARGE SOME. TITLEIST ONLY OBLAGATION TO MARK IS TO PROVIDE QUALITY CLUBS FOR THE PRICE HE PAID THATS IT!!!!!!!!
