great cost savings between Velocity and Pro-V which is important Wish we had the old NXT back.

my only complaint the Velocity scuffs up quicker than other Titleist balls

Re: velocity golf ball

Alright well I'm a 10 handicapper with a swing speed of 95-97. If I really crank my driver I can hit it out 255. That's what I thought until I got the Velocity. There's a hole on the course I play that is a 431 yard par 4. It plays much longer, though. Normally I have hybrid or more into the green. I hit it 281 and had 7 iron to a back pin with the velocity. I also hit 7 of seven fairways in my most recent nine hole round. My only complaint is that it does not spin as much around the greens. If your swing speed is like mine (although it is like faster seeing as you've been fitted for the Pro V1x) you won't notice the difference around the greens and it will be much longer.

Re: velocity golf ball

Was playing a Bridgestone 330RX made for extra distance on slow swingspeeds (i'm 95mph). Found a Velocity blown over a green into the deep grass on 16. After trying to out drive my partners all day with little success I accidentally teed up the Velocity on the next tee (instead of the 330RX) and outdrove everybody by 35 yards. After some confusion we figured out to everybody's surprise what happened. Bought a dozen Velocities and had some of my best scores and gave my cart buddy a sleeve and he liked them too. I do notice they roll out on the greens.

Hit a Pro V1x I found a couple days ago and was disappointed with the distance. Does this make sense? Jeff

Re: velocity golf ball

Just as long, but the cover is not as durable.

Re: velocity golf ball

Try a sleeve of both, and at least try some close chips, medium pitches, and full swings with short irons. Proficient players will get the ProV (urethane/tour balls in general) to check better and not roll through. Higher handicap players unable to get enough spin on the ball will notice little difference. Higher handicaps may also find the Velocity on the fairway more than a tour caliber ball (a poor hit with side spin will go further and faster into the woods). I think it is a fair statement that Bubba probably wouldn't have been able to get a Velocity on the green like his ProV1x to end the Masters. Use the ball that helps your short game the most. You only use driver 12-14 times a round, at least twice that number is the number of putts.
