Got a chance to play two rounds with the new prototype balls.  The first thing I noticed was the feel.  Off the tee with a driver felt soft yet lots of control.  My drives were moderately longer.  The long iron shots again felt good and the spin was substantially stronger.  My wedges were fantastic with the new ball too.  Short flops (< 30 yards) allowed for unbelievable touch and feel.  Can't wait until these balls hit the stores!

Got them a couple of weeks ago and played with them several times.  all I can say is the feel is amazing, especially off of the putter!  Good distance, spin, and feel off of my irons and woods also.  It really is cool that Titleist has asked for input from amateurs about their products.  This test ball rocks!!!

  3. Got the balls last week played them yesterday.  Drives were higher in flight and seemed to go straighter.  Liked them off the irons also.  Couldn't say too much about spin on greens because I didn't hit many.  Truthfully only one.  Course has very small greens. Will use them again next time out hopefully will be a better test.

Played 2 rounds with my prototypes all ready....notice some interesting things when I played.  When I miss hit shots, it results in a slice, typical of most players.  However, when I mishit the prototype balls, my slice was exaggerated....by a lot.  Usually I play with a ProV1x ball and can keep the ball in the green stuff, but my first drive with the prototype was wide right!

Now, for approach shots I noticed a lot more control with the wedges.  For most of the round, I could make the balls back up on the greens like a pro.  I even hit a ball thin (within 100 yards) and the ball still stuck the green.  I was amazed!

After the round, there was noticeable scuffs on the ball (without hitting a cart path or tree).

I have to agree with you 100.  I played on a cool, damp Saturday morning and I have never hit my driver that long, the feel around the greens and with my shorts irons was amazing.  I loved every second of my round that day.

I thought the ball felt great off the driver as well. It was definitely longer than my current ball (Pro V1x) off of the tee. It was also straighter, leaving me to believe that there was even less spin when struck with the driver. I also observed a little increase in distance on long approach shots with Fairway woods, Hybrids and Long Irons. Again these were also straighter, leaving me to believe that the spin was a bit lower with these shots as well. Mid Iron and Short Iron shots I didn't notice much change in distance, maybe a yard or two but nothing significant. I don't know that they spun any more or less on these shots. I felt like they spun less with tweener yardage pitch shots and short chip shots. The ball was also hot off of the putter. It really jumped off the face and I wasn't confident with putting that ball. It was a great ball though. I was so impressed with tee shot performance I gave the two of the balls, one ball each, to two friends to try. I kept the one I played with. I am still going to stick to the Pro V1x, I am more accustomed to the performance off the putter and around the green.
