I was fortunate enough to receive a sleeve of test balls in the fall of 2014.  I previously played a ProV1.  The test ball was better overall - better distance and around the greens - how can I find out which ball I tested because as the new season approaches and the new ProV's are out its time to pick up some balls.  How do I know which ball I tested ProV1 or ProV1x?

Thanks Titleist for the opportunity to test and provide my response via the survey.

or should I buy a sleeve of each and do my own new fitting.?

Did the ball you tested have a black number with "TEST" in-between the arrows on the side stamp.  If it did, most likely it was the new PRO V1.  If it had a red number, it was most likely the PRO V1x.

Barry - that is what I thought as well.  My test ball had a black number.

Then last week, I went to a local Team Titleist Pro V1 Ball Launch event.  Someone asked the local Titleist rep what the fall 2014 test ball was.  He said it was the prototype for the 2015 Pro V1x.  I should have asked a follow up about the color of the number.

No matter:  we each received a Pro V1 and a Pro V1x.  I will pick up a sleeve of each, test them over the next month and decide from there.

I believe that whatever ball you were playing before you should continue with the new version.  If for any reason, it doesn't work for your game then you can try the other version....at least that is how I am approaching it...the test balls were a variety of mixes of test items and I would not be concerned about what version it could of been...

just my two cents... Enjoy! Now go tee it up!
