Last fall I received a sleeve of balls from Titleist to try that simply said TEST.  This was my first time to test a product for Titleist.  I play to an 8 handicap and really liked the soft feel of the ball while putting, along with the ten extra yards on drives and iron shots I experienced.  I'd certainly like to know if that ball goes into production and what it would be called. Any idea? Eric B.

They were most likely the 2015 Pro v1 or Pro v1x.

A reasonable guess would be the color of the number. Red for -v1X black for -v1. Earlier in the summer some users got circles and squares - most likely prototypes. The later fall testers were likely giving feedback on the final pre-production products to see if the prototypes held up with greater exposure. The lucky testers later this year will be working with the non-urethane prototypes due for the early 2016 release.

Congrats, Carol!  Ball testing is a fun - and real - way to provide feedback to Titleist.

    I'm guessing you had a Pro V1.

Some test balls have other markings (squares, etc.) but it sounds like you had the proline model.

I hit a sleeve of the test balls last summer, LOVED them, but haven't received any of late...hoping they release some 2016 tests this summer!
