  1. Hello Team. I'm new to the community and have a question. I've played the DT solo, Velocity, ProV1 And 1X. My favorite ball so far is the ProV1x. I am fairly new to golf and am a 16 handicap. Whenever I play with my peers, I always get " Really ProV1x? what are you a pro??"

Is there something about the ProV1x am missing? Would I be better served with another ball??

    Thanks

Play what you enjoy and let the "haters hate" Some ill informed people have the impression that higher caps can't or shouldn't play the Pro V. It's just not true, it's a great ball no matter what handicap. If you dont' lose too many and can afford it. I say play on!!

If you are getting good performance from the Pro V1x and have confidence with it, then that is what matters, not what your playing partners are saying.

You don't need to be a pro to play the pro v1 balls. They have several beenafets for all golfers. My opinion they are the best balls on the market. But they are expensive. There nothing wrong with trying the NXT or even the the new DT true soft. My main recommendation is you find a ball that works for you at a price you can live with then stay with that ball. The consistency of playing the same ball is a huge plus.
Just because your friends don't see/feel the benifets you will.. Good luck!

I've heard you're only as good as your equipment, the golf ball is the only piece of equipment you use on every shot. With that said Titleist balls are the best out there so I'd say YES really Pro V1x. Still wouldn't hurt to have a ball fitting done some time. But let them play what they want as long as you have confidence with it, use it

Nothing wrong with playing with a ProV1x. The comments will quiet down as you progress using a quality ball!!!! Go for it!!
  7. Anyone can play a prov1 or prov1x they're just expensive. The prov1x is harder so it takes a quicker swing to compress and it tends to have a higher ball flight where the prov1 is lower but you get more roll. There is nothing wrong with the nxt tour or tour s they are essentially a poor man's prov but the prov are for any golfer just expensive if you lose one

that's nonsense! Play any ball you feel is best for you game regardless of the cost or brand...

But IMO and also a double HCP, the ProVs are the best ball in golf for all golfers, period!
  9. Thanks for the comments, guys!! I'll stick with the 1x's

Heck JM, if the ProV1x is your favorite ball by all means stick with it. Confidence in what you're doing and what you're doing it with while playing golf is of great benefit. I've played all the Titleist and Pinnacle balls, the ProV1x is a step above all the rest.

The guys I play with, well it is no big deal what you play with. We tee it up and the only time the ball type comes up is when we get to the fairway and someone has question regarding a ball in the fairway, but we normally go straight to our ball. Some play one plays a Bridgestone, one a cally, and three of us play Titleist. I believe the most asked question is what number are you playing. I would not worry about it and play on.

I have tested golf balls for Titleist the last several years. I play the Titleist NXT tour ball. I have played the ProV1 and ProV1x and have to say I don't like them as much as the NXT Tour ball. That ball is soft goes a long way and very workable around the greens. My game is more consistant when I play that ball. I dont even carry Pro V balls in my bag.

I can tell you that I too am a 16 HC and I just started gaming the ProV1x after taking advantage of the "Loyalty rewarded" program. My thought process was that I could get 4 dozens of ProV1x at pretty much the same price of 4 dozens of NXT Tour.

I loved the NXT Tour (better than the Tour S for me), good launch, good spin, felt soft and it was very consistent for me. But after playing 3 rounds with ProV1x, I fell in love with it around the green.

Maybe its all in my head, but I feel more in control with the ProV1x around the green as I can stop it a bit quicker than the NXT tour. The important part here is, even if its all in my head, or perhaps ESPECIALLY if its up in my head, why not continue to use them?

The more confident you are the better you'll score IMO.

My philosophy is simple, I don't give a rats behind what anybody thinks about anything I own or use. As long as you are happy then who cares what anyone else thinks? I am not a keep up with the Jones type guy, just wanna be happy and enjoy time on this big orb. Play what you will my friend and hit um straight.

Play what you like! You shouldn't listen to what other people say about your equipment, personal preference is your right. Exercise it!! Mike
