  1. I am new to golf, it is my first year. I have been hitting a variety of golf balls from Top Flites to Titleist ProV1x's. I am shooting 43 - 45 for 9 holes. I drive between 240-260 yards on average. I seem to do better with Pro V1x or cally Super Softs but not sure if that is a fluke. There is not anyone that does ball fitting within an hour. Can anyone lead me in the right direction? Thank you

43-45 is really good for just starting the game. If you don't mind the price tag, you will benefit from playing the ProV1 or ProV1x for their superior performance around the greens. Titleist also has good performing balls and other price points (NXT, etc) that you could look into. If you like the supersoft, you could try the DT Trusoft as well. I have heard great things about that ball.

For your distance I'd say you have a ball speed close to 135, I would stay with the ProV models. The 1X has a higher ball flight than the 1V off the tee. The NXT Tour S is also excellent off the tee with a great ball flight. But for around the green they both Pro V models are excellent choices. A ball I also play is the NXT Tour S for the softer feel in that model. I do have a friend that plays the DT Trusoft and loves it very much. If you can find a a ball fitting near you it might not be a bad idea to get fitted.

You can't go wrong with any Titleist ball.

The best advice that I can give is to play the best Titleist ball that you feel comfortable investing in. Be consistent and it will make a difference. Professional skeet and trap shooters use the same shell with the same specs every shot. It does pay off.

Depending on your game, if you don't lose balls that often, definitely the ProV line. If you lose balls (woods, water, etc.) try the NXT. The NXT will give you almost the performance of the ProV line but at significantly less cost. I switch between the ProVx and the NXT tour. I play the NXT tour on the water holes.

If you like the Cally Super Soft, try the Titleist DT Trusoft. Not an expensive golf ball and think you will like the results. I play the Prov1 and tried the DT Trusoft out of curiosity earlier in the year and it is a well performing golf ball. Buy a sleeve, play a round with it and examine the results. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. If you are looking for something similar to the Top Flite try the Velocity golf ball. If you want the number one ball, go with the Prov golf ball.

Start with the DT TruSoft, and if you love it, great. It is a fantastic ball at a great price point.

Otherwise, move up to the NXT Tour S and see how that suits you. Excellent performance and value.

The ProV1 and ProV1x are as good as it gets, hands down, and if you aren't losing balls off the tee, then just buy a dozen of them and stick with them.

You can't go wrong with any of the Titleist balls. I've tried many of the balls and really never noticed a difference in distance. If you like a ball with spin I would go with the ProV1 or the NXT Tour S. What ever fits your budget.
