So I normally play the Pro V1 for its additional spin, as I have a pretty level AOA and only wing the driver at 88-90 mph. But now I understand that the 2017 generation of Pro Vs switches things around and the Pro V1x becomes the higher spinning/higher flying ball. But isn't it also the higher compression ball of the two? Before this season I was playing the Bridgestone 330RX-S, so I'm used to playing the most spinny ball of the family of balls I choose. Can I get some advice on what to do here with the upcoming season?

  2. I would honestly try to get at least a sleeve of both and try them both out! I know I do this every time they redesign the ball for the sole purpose of when something changes in the ball, the ball could not perform quite as well as the older model, leading me to make a switch! Either way I don't think you will go wrong!

I'm surprised as well with the New Pro V1. I'm now going to have to get a sleeve of each to test which ball is right for my game. The new V1 with softer core that produces more ball speed has my interest, however the V1 lower flight vs V1x higher flight. Will have to decide what flight works best for me, since the distance & spin seem to be equal

I just wanted to chime in a bit of advice that really helped me out, sometimes playing a full course with both golf balls still left me undecided so I took both golf balls to a par 3 and in a short amount of time I had my answer, the shorter pitch and chip shots and puts helped me decided much faster, maybe something just to try... good luck!

I like the length of the new V. There will be no changes in my bag. Have been playing the Prov1 based on a fitting by Titleist a few years ago.

I was fortunate to be a tester for the new ball a few months ago and was thrilled with the Pro Vix I used. It definitely was longer, still had a great feel and felt really nice around the greens. It was perfect for me and can't wait to get some AND have the snow melt off our course that has been there for 53 straight days. :( :(
