My 14 year old daughter is playing on her High School golf team. The team provides balls from another company, but I would like her to play Titleist. I noticed that Titleist does not currently make a ball specifically for women, as other companies do. Is there a reason for this? Which ball would be best suited to a slower jr. female swing speed? Would she be ok with Pro V1 or should we look at DT SoLo?

    Thanks.

I noted in a query to anyone 2 weeks ago that I found a titleist womens ball. The ball was new, it was not a pearlized ball but normal surface though I don't know what the cover was made of. The titleist logo and the titleist women nomenclature as well as the number were in red print. I have not been able to find any info on this ball at all used or new. However; they were made at some point.

    Hi Linda,

The Titleist Lady was manufactured and sold from 1980-1985 and then the Titleist 384 Lady - 1986-1990.  Hope this helps.

  4. I also found a Pro V1 which looks like a womens ball.  It has red letter on the word Titleist in the lineup position

    Hello

I have had the same problem i am also a junior golfer but i have been recommended the pro v1 .  Currently Titleist do not do a womens ball but for a slower swing speed she should try the pro v1 or pro v1x .

    Hope this helps,
    Zac

    Hi Bill,

I spoke with the golf ball fitting team and they recommend going through the online selection tool to find the recommended and alternative golf balls that would be the best potential fit for your daughters game. From there, we suggest taking those two golf balls out on the course to go through the fitting process to find which is ultimately the best ball for her game. You can read more about our golf ball fitting methodology and go through the online selection process here:

    http://www.titleist.com/golf-ball-fitting

As for your question about swing speed, here is a little more background info from the golf ball fitting team:

Pro V1 and Pro V1x are Titleist’s tour performance golf balls designed for all swing speed players.  All Titleist golf balls are long – regardless of swing speed. Differences between models off the driver for swing speeds ranging from tour players (near 110 mph) down to lower speed players (in the 80s mph) are less than 4 yards - and that distance is not game changing or score changing. Game changing differences are found on the scoring shots into and around the green, and the Pro V1 and Pro V1x offer the most performance control on all shots. Golfers of all skill levels and swing speeds play Pro V1 because of this real performance benefit.

As for why there isn't a golf ball made specifically for women, this is because women have varied launch conditions, just like men, so Titleist golf balls are designed for the golfers’ swing characteristics, not their gender.

Thanks for the update. I will let her try one of my Pro V1 balls and see how she likes it. (It is probably safer with her than with me, since she rarely loses a ball during a round.)
