I haven't seen one of these in a LONG time...  not sure but I think it might be a "ladies" version from the 1970's

Sorry I can’t help with specifics.  Maybe somebody at Team Titleist can check their archives.

My recollection circa 1970 is that those were the 80 compression wound balls.  The 90s had the familiar black "Titleist" / red number and the 100s were black/black.

As a teenager I do vaguely recall associating them with Ladies' use, and definitely cold weather.  Never tried them myself.

  6. yeah clyde thats not a ladies ball but just a very old titleist nothing to serious i would just put it in a case because in a few years that could be one of the only versions of that golf ball left.
  7. Hi Liam, Today I found an old Titleist golf ball very similar to the one you posted 4 years ago, except it says "Acushnet DT Red" on the side. Did you ever get an approximate age for this ball? Thanks

I found a Titleist 4 golf ball today and on the side was marked Acushnet Red. I started playing golf in 1965. The golf ball I used then was the club special. Can anybody give me an idea when this ball was made.
