I see that the Motore Speeder 7.2 shaft has been added to the shaft matrix this year, I am wondering if the Tour Spec version is also available? Please let me know Thanks

Only the 6.2 and the 7.2 Tour spec in X flex has gone through our shaft testing and durability studies.  You can order those "off menu" through your golf shop.

Perfect the VC7.2 X-Flex is what I'm looking for. Is the VC7.2 Tour Spec version the same up charge as the normal VC7.2? If so I will be placing an order very shortly Thanks

    Hi Matthew,

Pricing is the same for the standard VC 7.2 as the tour spec 7.2

Cathi do you know if Fujikura plans to come out with a new shaft with the same specs as the Rombax 7Z08. i know on the fujikura web page doesn't list it anymore they only have the Rombax X now. Should i stock up on some of these shaft for future clubs or do they plan to make a comparable shaft. I'm mostly interested in the 2.5 torque spec.

There are other low launch/spin, low torque shafts in the Fujikura line such as the VC 7.2 std and tour spec and the Rombax X75.  The difference between these shafts and the 7Z08 is that the 7Z08 has a softer butt section so it does not feel the same at the transition. In our testing, we measured the torque of the 7Z08 slightly higher than indicated and all those shafts would be comparable if you are only looking at torque values..  If you were fit into that specific shaft, you may want to get more of that shaft, but if you were not fit , a good fitter should be able to find you a shaft that works for you.

I currently play the VC 7.2 and have the 7Z08. I like the 7.2 much better and will be ordering the Tour Spec version.

    Thanks Cathi.

Ordered mine today, was told there was about an extra 15 day lead time for this as its an exotic shaft.
  9. Any idea if or when the 6.2 and the 7.2 tour spec in s flex will be available?

The Tour Spec is stiffer than the standard Motore Speeder 7.2 and has only been approved in the X flex.  We don't have any timetable for approving other flexes as we have not had requests for other flexes from tour players.  At our Tour facility, most of the players that have come through fit into the standard Motore Speeder.

    Cathi,

I am looking at the Speeder TourSpec 7.2 X shaft.  Would you happen to know if launch/spin numbers will be lower then the Titleist Ahina X tipped 1", on robot testing?   Looking to bring my launch/spin down more.  Is there a retail price for the Speeder shaft or do I have to contact a dealer for the price?  Thanks.

All things being equal, the TourSpec 7.2 will flight lower and should spin less.  It is stiffer than the Ahina.  Keep in mind that if you are adding loft at impact through your swing, going stiffer in the tip may cause the shaft to stay with you and could ultimately add loft at impact.  Since we don't have an MSRP for the shafts, you would want to contact several pro shops to get comparison pricing.

Sorry to threadjack but  I was wondering if we also have access to "off menu" shaft in Canada?

Basically, I'm looking for either of the following:  PX Black 7.0 (60-65 grams version) or the Ozik 6M3 (270CPM).

    Thanks for your help

    Hi Math,

I forwarded your question on to Canada to see if that is something they are going to be able to do.  On the PX Black, that shaft has not passed our shaft testing and protocols and we cannot offer it even as an "off menu" item.  The only Ozik 6M3 that has passed is the Stiff flex.

    Thanks for the answer Cathi.

Let's say that I am allowed to order "off menu" shafts in Canada. Knowing that I can't get the PX Black or the 6M3X, which model (that I can order) would you recommend if I am looking for the following:

Similar launch and spin (can be lower but nothting higher) to a PX 7A3 (tipped 0.75 extra) but at around 65 grams? I'm basically looking to reduce the swingweight by one point (and overall weight since my driver weights in at 339 grams right now).

The Tour Spec 6.2X could be an option but I'd like to know what are the other similar options availlable.

    Thanks

Hi Cathi, I recently purchased a 913 D3 9.5° with Diamana Ahina D+ 72 stiff shaft.  I was wondering how does the Motore Speeder tour spec VC 7.2 compare . I am after a low launch/Spin shaft. I don't mind the Ahina but was wondering is it an upcharge if I got the Motore speeder. Also what is the difference between the 7.2 and tour spec 7.2. Many Thanks

gojipoj. it is an up charge for the Tour spec. I currently play the VC 7.2 tour spec in X-stiff. it is a stiffer shaft that you can feel in all aspecs of the swing. the tour spec is slightly stiffer than the standard 7.2. the biggest diffrence is in shot dispersity. witch sounds good on paper when i tellyou i have a tighter shot pattern but the truth is you have to have the ability to swing that shaft to still make it work able. when i first went to the 7.2 TS i lost my cut draw. it took about two months to work that shot back in the bag. I would recomend demo'ing that shaft be for buying. (and yes i know that is a hard thing to find) but thats a shaft that you can either swing or not at all. and most people can't. but to finish up i do love that shaft. dont know if this was any help.

    cheers. greens and fairways

    Hi,

The VC 7.2 tour spec will launch lower than the standart motor speeder and the d+ 72.

The upcharge for my tour spec was about 170 euros.

You'll get a better feel with the tour spec over the d+ and the standard version and tighter dispersion

Could you let me know your driver swing speed ?

    Hope this helps

The VC 7.2 Tour Spec is slightly stiffer and should spin a little less than the Plus White.  Keep in mind that the Plus series is not tipped, although we can tip it up to an inch and a half which would stiffen the tip section.  Tipping one inch on that shaft will bring the flex down about 1/4-1/3 of a flex.  The Tour Spec 7.2 is stiffer than the standard 7.2.

Not sure where else to ask this so I'll post here.  I tested 913 D2 and D3 8.5* drivers with D+ 72 shaft in S and X.  I prefer my current driver with the Black Motore Speeder 7.2 S and may consider it in a 913 D3 head (I have played the shaft in my driver for a year now and it plays between the S and X in the D+ 72 I demo'd, I hit more accurately and liked the feel a bit better, (I will say though the D+ 72 is one of the best stock shafts Titleist has ever offered).

Can you get (special order), the Motore Speeder 8.2 in S flex as well for the 913 FD iwhen its released in the spring?

    Thanks,

    TP
