Has anybody used the S, M, or full sole grinds on vokey wedges?  I have recently been introduced to grind options (as I have commited myself to work on short game) and I am a bit curious. If anyone uses a grind, please share some information. I am open to other grinds but the three mentioned are featured for the 60.07, 56.11, 52.08, and 48.06 (the four wedges I will most likely buy) respectively.  When it says "limited options available" for a grind, how would I go about getting it? And how do I get the grinds on the wedges?

You can order the TVD's with the K & M Grinds.  I'm not sure what other grinds are available since these fit my game.

I use the M and S grind in my lob wedge. (rotate them in and out depending on course conditions)

The M grind is versatile. It's slower through the sand compared to S grind. It plays really nice out of the rough, however opening the blade all the way on tight lies can lead to skulled shots off of the leading edge. The M grind also tends to dig a little more on full shots so if you play on a course that's wet this may be a bit of concern.

The S grind in my opinion is a little more versatile than the M grind. It has a little bit more heel relief and allows me to hit shots with the face wide open from tight lies when I need it. It's a little faster through the sand than the M Grind. The S grind may be my favorite grind of all time, it's so versatile and allows me to create tons of shots

These are how the wedges play for me and may not entirely reflect how they play for you or anyone else.

You may want to look into using high bounce full sole wedges for you 48° 52° and even your 56° as you'll more than likely be using those clubs for full shots and bump and runs majority of the time anyways.

I would highly recommend seeing a Titleist wedge fitter and going through a fitting. You may be surprised to find that the wedges you think you need are totally wrong for you. You'll also be able to hit the different grinds and see what feels best to you. In my opinion wedges are all about feel and nothing beats being able to test out a club under your normal playing conditions and feeling out what will perform best for you.

Hope this helps, best of luck.

I've used a SM c-c 54-14 and it actually picks the ball clean off tight lies if you lean the shaft forward a little.

I briefly tried the SM c-c 58-12 (which has an M grind).   It was great out of soft sand and grass but was a bit of a chore on tight lies.  I returned it to the store.  It definitely didn't play as nice as the old 258-12 wedge.

The SM4 52-12 was great for full shots and BnR shots.

Hey Lou, how do you think the SM4 50.08 compares to the 50.12? I am thinking about going 50.08 or 50.12, 54.11 bent to 55.12, and 60.10. BTW I am more of a digger type player especially when it comes to full shots and shots around the green.

I briefly played the 52-12 and it did OK around the greens.  I had it bent to 51 (main reason is I wanted just a little more roll).  I hit a lot of pitches and full shots with it and it worked OK in soft sand but did dig just a little.  I went to a 54-11 and bent it to 53 was to simplify the top end.

I also played the SM c-c 50-08 bent to 51.  Worked pretty well and it took over my short game for about a year (didn't use my 54 much, except for bunkers; I had a SM c-c bent to 55).

I would think that the 50-12 would be an ideal weapon for long bunker shots in soft sand.   Plenty of bounce to spare if you want to bend it a degree or two strong.

I like your setup idea.   For me the 60-10 is the BOMB in lob wedges.

The thing I can say is to start out with a side by side at the golf store - the fitting mats are pretty close to some of the tight lies at the course.

Of the SM4s, I've have/had all three grinds:

52-12 (full sole)  - I used this before switching to the 54-11.   Works pretty well off tight lies but tends to dig a little bit in bunkers or off plush lies.

54-11 (M grind) - bent to 53*.   Slides better in soft sand vs 52-12.  Excellent around greens and off firm lies.

60-10 (M grind) - bent to 59*.  This has been my greenside bunker club and also use it with limited real estate on the green.  Pretty deadly club.   Works equally well on a wide variety of lies.

64-07 (S Grind) - I use it for brute force shots between 30-50 yards where I have to stop the ball.   Also great for hard sand but have to play with a square face.   Better to play the 60-10 off hard lies on the grass.  The leading edge has much more bounce than advertised.

Stand corrected on the 64-07.  It is a "T" grind.
