Just received my LH 712 U 4 with pxi 6.5.  This is by far my favorite club I have owned. I wanted to know what others think about Titleist maybe expanding the line further.  I'm thinking a 5 & 6 version would be awesome. Thanks again go out to Titleist for making a LH version of this club and Cathi for all your help.

Stephen, do you find it easier to hit than your current 4i? what iron model do you currently play? thanks.

Up until now I have played a 712 MB 4 iron. The 712 U looks good at address, is much better feeling and easier to hit consistently IMHO.

Hi Stephen:  I purchased the 2,3 and 4 712u and love them. I completely agree with you that a 5 and 6 712u would be a great addition to the lineup and I would purchase them. Easy to hit and I find them to be more accurate than hybrids for me.

I would like to ask Stephen B and Jim S what their hdcp is and what type of swing they have?  On the web site these clubs are supposed to be for  better, high swing speed players.  I am 65 and have slowed down my swing over the years.  I used to play a set of clubs that were only irons ( 1 thru wedges) so I am quite comfortable hitting them. I also find my hybrid game is not as consistent as I would like, so if the 712u is a good replacement for the hybrids and can be hit by slower geezers, I might look into a couple of them.  Thanks for the input.

Hi Mark:  My handicap is a 6 and my iron swing speed is around 88. I would suggest going to a local Golf shop and hitting them for yourself. I personally feel that with the right shaft that there would be no reason you can't hit them.  I am really enjoying playing with the clubs and am hoping that they come out with a 5 and 6 712u.  I do not have a hybrid in my bag now that I have the 712u clubs.  I am hitting 2, 3, 4 712u, 5, 6, CB, 7, 8, 9, pw MB and two vokey wedges.

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for the input.  I play to about a 12 hdcp and a couple of years ago my driver swing speed was about 91.  I've never had my iron speed tested but I'm pretty sure that is is quite a bit slower than 88.  I currently play 2008 model AP1's (4-GW) and one Vokey wedge.  I think that I will try to find a shop around here that has a 712U and give it a try,  Thanks again.  Fairways and greens.

I just ordered the 712u (18*) and am so excited to get it in my hands. I will be swapping out the shaft to an S300 sensicore ... I have read both good and some not so good reviews regarding the ease of hitting this iron.

For those who have the club, I bought this club for basically a driving iron when I'm having issues with my driver or 3 wood ... For those who have the club, how easy it to hit? How does it compare to the hybrid? How does it compare to the 3 or 4 iron in your bag?

I look forward to your response(s) and thank you in advance.

Hi Des:  I find that I have more accuracy with the 712 U than with a hybrid and I find them easy to hit.  I find them easier to hit than a standard 3 or 4 iron.  I use the clubs out of the fairway, rough and off the tee and feel they are perfect for my game.

I am a 8 handicap and play the 710mb's. I currently have 3 thru pitching wedge in my MB ser. I also have the 913 19 degree hybrid which I switch out with my 3 iron.  I recently got the 3iron 712U.  It is much easier to hit than my 3 or 4iron mb and similar to my hybrid. I will probably order a set of new 714mb's when they come out in the fall.  The 712U because if the wider sole and more weight on the bottom is very easy to get in the air.  The Titleist fitting van was at my club in Dallas last month and I hit the 2 iron with similar results.  Because it can be windy in Dallas, I now have more decisions to make as to which clubs to take out of my bag. Good luck in your pursuit.
