Can I get Some Info On 712U?

    A fellow TT Member suggested I take a look at the 712U, as I am in need of a 200-220 club. I play the AP1 712 irons, and my ball striking is the best it has ever been. I have only been golfing for around three years, but I am around a 10 HC. I am intrigued with the 712U. How forgiving is it? Is the 3 easier to hit than a normal 3 iron? Recently, I began hitting my long irons way better and a lot more consistently. I've hit blades before, and hit them pretty well. Not as well as my AP1s, though. Anyone who has tried them or owns them, please give me some info! Thanks!

    The 712u 3 iron is not as forgiving as an AP2 3 iron so I would recommend going to either a fitting day or an Advanced Fitter.  Both will have the 712u's in the 2,3 and 4 iron with DYG S300 shafts.

    I can vouch for this. I demoed the 712u 3 iron, and I found that I hit my AP2 3 iron better and more consistant. I hit both well, but I hit my current 3 iron better.

    Keano26....I have the 712U 2 Iron.  It's as awesome club.  It works for about 225+ for me.  I will tell you this, it's not at all forgiving, and the sweet spot is the size of a dime.  Now, if you try to overpower it, you'll lose.  It takes a great of concentration and patience to hit it and hit it well.  Very proud of you for being under a 10 HC...but, the 712U is really for established tournament HC of 5 of less(I'm just saying).  And, when you do hit it right on the screws, it rings in your heart!!! And, when you miss hit it, plan on bogey or worse.  I would suggest you take Cathi's advise, get to a fitter and most of all, try them all....Good luck

    Thanks Steve and eboos. I am interested no longer. I picked up my TM Burner 2.0 3H for the first time in a while (massive dent in it) and hit it surprisingly well. I will stick with it until I get the money together for a 910H.
