  1. Are there any internet retailers other than the major name stores that are reputable?

I inquired of one retailer www.golfcheapmarket.com and was informed that "our golf clubs are directly sent from the original manufacturer."

Can you confirm that this response is accurate? Thanks.

Any place like this is an absolute thorn in the side of legitimate retailers. The clubs they sell are counterfeit from the heads to the grips. I've had to tell quite a few players the bad news and they usually already knew. A brand new forged iron set from Titleist or a Scotty Cameron putter for 60% off the price you see everywhere else is too good to be true.

Don't even place an order out of curiosity because no matter what they state the return policy is, you'll probably have an incredibly difficult time getting money back. There is nothing these sites do that is legitimate and all the OEM companies have legal departments constantly pursuing them in the USA and overseas where they primarily operate. Unfortunately, that's another cost of doing business that is added to what we pay for clubs. In other words, these places not only swindle purchasers directly but also hurt people who go to their established pro or retail shop for top of the line clubs.

There are no shortcuts to getting deals on the latest and best equipment from reputable companies like Titleist. You can take the time to find nice condition pre-owned but it may not match your specs. I prefer to get properly set up and order my Titleists and offset the cost as best I can by selling my previous equipment.

Yeah, directly sent from the original knock-off manufacturer in the far east.

If you are in the US, check their retail store location.  Legitimate online stores are extensions of retail "brick and mortar" stores.  We don't have online only authorized dealers.

To add to Ken W's assessment - Titleist isn't shipping any 710 irons or 909 drivers anymore.  Png never allows a discount they don't offer to all retailers.  Just 2 more red signs if you didn't get the first few signs.

  7. thanks for the replies. Got it.

They look to be a pretty "shady" group. There is no way they can sell genuine clubs at the prices they are showing. Even if they could, the manufacturers would close them down as they are advertising below stated MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policies.

Go to your local PGA Professional. He can not only give you a good price but make surethat the clubs are the best ones suited for your game.
