When you custom order Titleist irons with the lofts one degree strong, are you getting heads that are originally made at that one degree strong loft or are they just standard loft heads that are bent one degree strong? I ask because I just received the AP2 712 irons that I ordered one degree strong and they arrived with standard lofts. So my question is can they be sent back to Titleist to get the proper lofted heads or do I just have the retailer I ordered them through bend the heads because that's all the Titleist factory would be doing anyway. Hope that makes sense. Thanks.
They start with standard lofted clubheads and bend them. If you ordered your clubs from an Authorized Titleist Dealer they should have been delivered with a build sheet showing all of the specs that they were built to. If you didn't get that, then I think that your dealer didn't order them as custom, but stock.
They can be send back for loft adjustment if needed. I would hesitate to have someone other than the factory bend your irons for you. If the factory does it, they will stand behind the clubs.
Another thing to keep in mind... there is a possibility that the machine you used to check the lofts may not be calibrated, so there is a chance for variance in measurements. However, feel free to call the club concierge team at 1-888-TITLEIST and they'll help provide you with information and answer any questions.
Not only that, even readings on the same machine differ between two different operators.
