    Hi TT,

I will be ordering a 2 degree soon (after my fitting) and was wondering if there is any way to increase the swingweight during the build. The specs I am anticipating are such that it will decrease the swingweight considerably (about 6 points) so I would like to see if there is a method used to increase the swingweight. I really dont want to put lead tape on the back.

Also, is it possible to bend the 712U 2 loft to 19 degrees so that it adds 1 degree of bounce?

Can the lie angle be bent to 3 degrees flat?

The 712u has the same build parameters as our CB and MB heads.  We can bend them 2° up or flat, and can bend the loft 1°.  If you were to build a 712u with a DYG S300, the standard swingweight would be D3.  If you cut it one inch, we would not be able to build it heavier than C8.  You can also use a light weight grip to add swingweight.

I ordered 712 U irons and was told that I couldn´t get 2 up and 1 strong at the same time. How come ?

I am not certain why your pro shop would have told you that - you can order it at 2° upright and 1 strong.  Keep in mind that although the length and loft is the same, the lie angle is.5 more upright than our standard long irons.  2 is 59.5°, 3 is 60.5° and 4 is 61.5°.

    Hi Cathi,

Is it possible to use plugs to increase the swingweight to these - even if it's a max 6 grams?

    Hi,

Yes, to a certain extent, they can.  It depends on the available headweights they start with and the shaft that is used.  If you are building a 712u that is going to be 6 swingweights lighter than standard at C7, and not change grip, you can request C9 and they might be able to get to it.
