Besides the D3 being smaller, what are the other specific differences between the D# and The D2??

randy,
the 913 series drivers are similar in launch angle. the d2, i believe, though has a slight draw bias vs the d3. the d3 is a little more workable off the tee. hope this helps.

both 913 drivers have similar launch characteristics. the d2 has a slight draw bias to it, though.

All Titleist drivers are 0.5 degrees open at the neutral setting. That can be adjusted.
Under size matters, the sweet spot and forgiveness are better with the larger faced D2. The clubs have a similar profile for typical flight.
The center of gravity is further forward with the D3, and it is easier to shape shots. So it is a better players club with an ability to work the ball in both directions and also if the contact point is on-center.

AC Rix Rox, I also have the 913D2 10.5* driver w/'Ilima 61"A" flex shaft. Is you driver head a 10.5* or 12* standard? Since the settings are set to .75* increments I'm wandering what setting your using, and on what head standard loft you are using. Might try it myself.
Hi Norris,
My D2 is 12* Standard at factory default setting: A1. I loved my D3 with kai Li S flex but my D2 with iLima 61g mid hi flex A out performs it by a wide margin. yardage increase is off the charts. I hit balls so far I had to go get new glasses to track their flight and find them. My Pro cannot believe the difference. It's performance has been so consistant, the D2 reigns supreme in my bag and has earned a Daphne tiger head cover too.
It's funny, nobody ever asked to see my D3 after I teed off. Now when I tee off with my D2 almost everyone I know wants to know what I am hitting. I don't want to tell them because I am scared they will go get one and use it against me. Sorta was my secret weapon so to speak.
Dag nabit, the cats outta the bag now!
Hi AC, Do you know what your swing speed and ball speed are?
Thanks for the info AC RixRox. I also have a 910D2 12* w/bassara "A" flex shaft in it. My 913D2 is a 10.5*, but for some reason it just doesn't feel right to me, and (like you) I hit my 910 D2 12* better, so I'm thinking about taking the Bassara shaft out of the 910D2 12*, and replacing it with my 'iIlima 61 shaft "A" flex shaft. If winter ever ends, I'll try it out and see how it works out.
AC -
Do you have the head speed/ball speed before and after? I'm at your old distance with a 910 D2 10.5 with Ihana R flex, but getting too much launch and dropping the ball out of the sky with no roll. I have access to a 12 degree with a K'ali R flex to see if I can cut the spin and keep the launch high enough. Hitting the Bassara A and R indoors didn't change the backspin issue. Slight fade and no roll. Once I can see the ground again (or when it is not white..) I'm going to try to working with my fitter.
I do not have the correct comparatives. I am speaking from range and course performance differences. The computer says my swing speed with the D3 was recording 88-109mph. On the range and course I hit from 190-220 yards. I do not have the D2 speed nos. as my Pro was shut down for remodeling his new indoor range after I bought my D2 12* D2 RANGE I hit Ob+ (OUTOF BOUNDS) WHICH IS I N THE WOODS AT THE END OF THE LAST YARDAGE MARKER.
On my home course, I drove past the pin and well into the woods (out of bounds) with a brand spanky new ProV1x ball on a 323 yd hole. Grrr! My 15 3W layed up my 2nd shot about 10-12' short of but dead on the pin. I holed out on 1putt.. Somethings just gotta get sorted out on the golf course.
I'll get some speeds, yardage and launch angles from my D2 swings on the new computer sometime this week when the snow stops.
BTW
Read Feb 2014 issue of Golf Digest on 3rd paragraph of page 96 where Tim Burke (The all-time long ball champ) changes from a 86 gram heavy driver shaft to a 55 gram shaft. HE DIDN'T MENTION FLEX OR KICK . I wouldn't either.

I switched to s D2 12.5 deg loft and switched shafts from a Diamana kai'li S-flex to an Diamana iLima A flex. The yardage gain off the computer was remarkable. WITH MY d2 and iLima my Ball prov1x is launching between 17-23 Degrees on a beautiful flight trajectory that seems to flatten and go out of sight before it falls off.
Wow, you went from a stiff shaft to an "A" flex. That's quite a change in my opinion. How has the change affected your dispersion and your distance? Why did you skip the regular shaft flex?
My PGA Pro @ DSG urged me to try the A flex in the lightest shaft I could find (cheap). Long story short.
Problem is: Now I hit the ball so dag nab far, it goes out of sight. I had to buy $500 worth of eye exams and new glasses to find my balls. Whew! Glasses were cheap compared to all the lost V1x's!

the d2 has a little wider face than the d3 but the d3 is a little bit taller. I am a 15 handicap and I prefer the d3 over the d2. you need to demo both heads with every shaft option available. that will be the only way you can tell which is best for you.
