I noticed that the new AP 2 irons have a 46 P and. a 50 wedge.  Why change lofts from what has been my old AP 2s and prior clubs the PW was 48.  That forces one to relearn the distances and throws off the Vokeys lofts of 52, 56 and 60 with 4 degree spreads throughout the sets.

    what is the thinking?

    Kevin,

This was done along with moving the CG position in the irons to promote a more penetrating flight with the shorter irons for more distance.  We offer, at no up-charge, custom lofts when ordering your clubs.  Meaning you can match your previous lofts to avoid having to re-gap your set.

    Cameron,

Can the lofts be adjusted on the AP1's too?

Very interesting and thanks for the reply.  Good to know about the customization option as that was an obstacle in my thinking about a new set.

    Kevin,

Changing loft will also affect bounce.  In your case decreasing loft will add bounce.

-1° loft = +1° bounce. And vice versa.

  6. I had my new 714 AP2's lofts made to match the 712 AP2 loft specs...during my fitting we determined this was to my advantage.

Sounds great that is what I was hoping for.
