Hi, I am installing a Mitsubishi Kuro Kage Black hybrid shaft in a 913H 24*. I wanted to make sure I trimmed the shaft correctly.

I was told that Titleist trims another 1/2" from the tip than the manufacturer suggests. Golfworks suggests 1 1/2" for a H4 then butt trimming to length. Mitsubishi says Trimming Instructions for Kuro Kage™ Black Hybrid (All Shafts Butt Trim To Length) 4i/9W - 1 1/2".  I think they mean 1 1/2" from tip then butt trim to length. Can you tell me what Titleist does. I'm a big Titlest fan. I'm playing Titlest woods, wedges and putter now and plan to get fitted for irons soon. I don't want to mess this one up.

    Thanks,

    Ron

You have it right Ron. This has come up on TT numerous times before. Titleist trims an extra 1/2 inch to account for the weight of the tip adapter. Mitsubishi specifies a 1.5 inch tipping for a four hybrid so your total tip trim is two inches.

Hi Ron,  We would tip all 24° hybrid shafts 1.5" and butt cut to length.
