Could a set of irons ordered direct from Titleist be issued without serial numbers?
Irons that were ordered through a Titleist retailer would all have a serial number. If stock specifications, it would be on the six iron and if they were custom, it would be on all the irons.

Hello Team Titleist / Cathi-
I bought a set of new ap2's yesterday and have doing some research regards the serial#'s. All the clubs in the set have a serial number engraved on them- which I'm discovering means they are custom. The number is 12UGL- could you tell me what is custom about this particular set- as I bought them under assumption they were standard spec. The shafts are regular flex DG R 300- which may be a break from stock spec.
Thanks for your time!

Hi Michael, I believe we spoke on the phone about your set and what made them custom was the R300 since stock is S300.
We have stamped our clubs with serial numbers so that the specifications can be recorded in case of a lost or stolen club. We cannot authenticate product through that number because these numbers can and are being copied from legitimate numbers. Our recommendation is to purchase from an authorized Titleist retailer or pro shop so that you can be assured that your set is legitimate. You can find an authorized Titleist retailer at: http://www.titleist.com/locator.aspx.

I have the same situation with my recently purchased AP1s - I thought they were' stock' as well. They all have SN 13VLN.
Could you possibly tell me what made these custom?
Thanks as well for your time.
What makes them custom is the DYG R300 and the stock configuration of 4-PW instead of 3-P (AP2) or 4-PW, W (AP1)
I also recently purchased a set of 712 Ap1's. All of the irons are stamped on the hosle 96XUM. The set came 4 - PW. Can you tell me what is custom about them?

Hi, I bought a set of AP2s that has 13MPY engraved on all clubs, but there is no 710 or other marking on the hosel. Can you tell me anything about this set? Thanks. Bill
Bill,
That serial # shows up in our database as a set of original AP2s, not 710. What shafts are currently in them?

Hi Cameron,
Thanks. So, these are 2008 AP2s? The shafts are Project X Rifle 7.0s. I thought they would be extremely stiff, but they feel ok. My swing speed with driver is 99.7 mph. In the 7 iron, the shaft is a 5.5 and I don't feel any difference.

Earlier this year I did a fitting at Titleist in Ocean Side, I ordered my clubs (custom) through a local golf course and to my suprise the cool thing is that each iron was lasered with my last nameon the hosel, and only the 6 iron had the sticker on the shaft ,I thought that was a nice touch by Titleist. By the way, the fitting at the Ocean side facility was awesome.... Joe
