My 910D2 now has a 7gr screw. Did I get the screw because I went from a 60gr shaft to a 73gr shaft? If I am using a heavier shaft should I use the heavier weight?

We don't sell individual weights, but you can get a full weight kit from Golf Galaxy which will come with 5 weights so if you want to play with different swingweights, you will have that option. The other is that we do repairs for swingweight which would require sending them back to us. Hot Stix is not an authorized account of ours so they could not send it directly to us, but you could set that up with an authorized account.
For the future, you can order just the shaft alone which comes with an adapter and an additional surefit weight (you can make a request for a particular weight when you place your order) through any Titleist retailer.

Re: 910D2 Weight Screw

Cathi,

I recently purchased some 910H hybrids (21 and 24 degrees)... and sent them to Hot Stix in Scottsdale, AZ to get reshafted with a shaft I've been fitted for. In the hybrids currently, is the red dot (7g) weight... and the swingweight is D4 for one, D5 for the other. I want to lighten the headweight to the D2-3 range... so need to purchase one green dot (5g) and one 2g weight. Can I do that directly from Titleist customer service (ideal)? Or, can I purchase it from an authorized Titleist retailer (Golf Galaxy)?

Thanks!

I figured that the heavier screw was because of the heavier shaft. Does a heavier shaft normally require a heavier head?

I will try both the 7gr and 9gr, and see which one works best, but was curious as to how swing weighting works.

Thanks.

Re: 910D2 Weight Screw

We would have tried to build the shaft with a D3 swingweight at standard length with a stock grip. If you just ordered a shaft alone, it would normally come with a 7 gram weight unless requested slightly heavier swingweight.

Re: 910D2 Weight Screw

Replacement shafts come with a different screw in order to preserve the club's swingweight (or how the comparative weight of the head feels relative to the length and weight of the shaft -- i.e., imagine the difference in feel between swinging a 6 foot long broomstick versus a 1 foot long broomstick even if made of different materials to have similar weights).
