The made for Titleist shafts are made to a certain specification, so they perform to a high standard in our 910 metal woods. It ins't an inferior product, but just plays slightly weaker to flex then the after market versions. There are many players that fit into that shaft over the after market versions, because it caters to their swing style more. They also come un-tipped, where as the after market shafts will come tipped 1/2".

The Aldila RIP is the after market version that carries no up-charge.
