My bad, I was kind of blunt about the explanation. It is a utility iron, designed for more consistency and control with those of higher ball speeds. Pretty much, it is like a long iron to sum it up. Its called a driving iron. From what I've heard it plays like a hybrid without the the big back like the woods.

Still think there's room for both clubs to sit alongside the current line up for 2013 imo

The thing is: The hD hybrid is a tour only.. It will NOT come to retail in february.. Hopefully later on in the year together with the 712U?

The hybrids are scheduled to be released in February along with the fairway woods. I'm not sure about the utility irons though.
