Hybrids are easier to hit, and hit straight but usually do not have the length of a fairway wood. hybrids usually replace irons, rather than Woods but it depends on the player. Distance-wise the hybrids usually carry the same length as 2,3 and 4 irons . I personally carry a 3 wood, and 2 hybrids then start my irons at a 4. Your choice should come down to what you hit the best. If you hit a fairway wood well, save those and look at replacing irons. Distance gaps should determine your choices. It doesn't make sense to keep a 4 or 5 wood, a 18% and 21% hybrid and a 2, 3 and 4 iron if they all hit it about the same length. See what you hit best and maximize that.

I find it easier to hit a fairway wood vs anything above a 21 hybrid.   I also hit a 27 hybrid just as far as a 24.

First, what is the cause of the 22 handicap?

People with slower swing speeds fare better with 4 and 7 woods and 24-27H and 6 iron as the lowest numbered iron.
